MAIDSTONE UNITED joint-manager Lloyd Hume has been left reeling over the controversial loss of central defender Ben Lewis, writes Stephen McCartney.

 

Lewis was snapped up by league rivals Margate on transfer deadline day, but Hume, speaking to www.kentishfootball.co.uk today, a day AFTER April Fools Day, revealed his club are not happy with the way that the deal went through.

i don't think so ,as its a 'dispute' between clubs at this stage.

 

It may just be the case that all that maidstone are saying is not entirely correct.

 

havimng said that, MFC do need to be very careful that he is propertly registed and eligible to play.

 

At this stage, i don't think we can lose any points-and indeed -may not have done anything wrong.

 

If he plays however-and is not eligible-thats when we would lose points;so need to be very very careful and err on the side of caution imo.

Didn't I read somewhere that Lewis was being released by Maidstone? Perhaps thats when / why we signed him.

I reckon it will be resolved by next week and he will be making 'Gate debut at Heybridge.

 

Reading between the lines, the Maidstone statement is a bit of huffing and puffing-making a point-but not being too heavy about it-and Maidstone don't seem to wish the club or player any real malice over it.

 

I also reckon maidstone were 'expecting 'it-as they had signed Royston a few days before-a direct replacement !!

Don't forgewt-we have only read one side of the story.
