Offical Site Update (1/4)

I must say I did not believe it when I heard that Paul Telfer had signed for us, but that is a pretty amazing signing considering where he has been and the experience he will bring. To be signed by Gordon Strachan at 3 of his clubs must count for something. I'm pretty sure I remember seeing him play for the Saints.

The others look like very good signings, very promising for the next season and a bit. Looks like Bateman has a lot of contacts and that is very useful at this level.

Interesting.

Potentially the Telfer signing is very good, although old League players can sometimes turn up and just tread water for a bit of money. We've had a few of those in the past, particularly in Browne's day. I'm sure though that Bateman has a little more savvy in this area, so let's be optimistic.

Wild has had a large number of clubs and arrives from Enfield Town, current home of...Steve Browne ! He may have some stories to tell. Another Hemel discard though - I hope we don't end up as Hemel reserves.

The others are an Academy player and Steve's son and I would think that both are unlikely to figure much for us this term.

Still, he is certainly changing the personnel. I'll be surprised if more than 2 or 3 of players signed by Sweetman are here next season.

Some very good signings! Will be interesting to see how this feature for us next season. Given that Telfer has come from the football league will he be on a contract to be sold on? Maybe the chairman has give bateman a budget increase to secure survival? It will be interesting to see which of Sweetmans signings (if any) are around next year? I would keep Jordan and Romeo.

Yes Glen I did see that, the company which owns the club has gone into administration, and there is talk of the club falling out of the league altogether if a buyer is not found by the end of the summer.

Looking forward to the Winchester game, will be interesting to see how the Sweetman players fit into Bateman's plans.

Telfer is 37 so I doubt if he would warrent a contract.
