Leaving aside the obvious problems with this 'philosophy', the poor bloke was only trying to walk home from work.

I have no sympathy with the vague anti-everything views of the G20 protesters, but as someone once said, although I despise what he says, I will defend to the death his right to say it. I do not agree with the 'right' of prtiesters to do anything but protest, i.e. they have every right to wave placards or whatever to make their views known. I do not agree with their 'right' to obstruct others going about their business (e.g. French fishermen vblockading ports). I certainly do not agree with the Met's 'right' to deliberately provoke trouble by herding people into confined areas for extended periods, and most certainly do not agree that the police have a 'right' to attack or assault people.

No, no, no. Because, they do use their own personal issues re aggression to unleash it against innocent members of the public. I don't just mean lawful protesters. It could happen to you or i quietly going about out business. Our only 'crime' would be to be in the wrong place at the wrong time... It does happen, and when it does, they should be criminalised for their criminal acts.

 

Just to add - the highest percentage of coppers aren't bent. But, i dont think i've met one yet i'd trust with a gun smile

Why do you doubt what I've said? Most of the numpties I saw that day were chinless, lentil munching, scruffbags.

The individual in question was so please with himself and looking at his mates to see if he was getting their nod of approval, he didn't see me coming, until it was too late.

Would I have done it if he had been a 6'4" unit? Who knows? I didn't wait for him to stand up and he didn't hang around to check me out!!!

For your information, I was at Wapping in the 80's during the Sun Print workers dispute (As a Trade Unionist supporting my sacked brother-in-law) and have felt the full force of a police baton across my shoulder. I hate the SPG but am a defender of the old fashioned Bobby.

The police are in a no win situation and in particular when confronted by strong elements of low life trash

 

The answer is not the individual actions of rogue police officers but the promotion of men to senior positions in the force who lack the ability to motivate their men/women officers

 

Of course they will be tempted to lash out by the authority hating element but that goes with the job
