Well...depends how you define power failure.

Arrived to find no power at the ground, and the ref called it off at 7.35, Gosport's players were out of there almost instantly, and then at 7.40 the power returned, but it was too late to get them back.

Did the power go before the sides were out on the pitch?? I assume it was not on at all before the game if Gosport left so rapidly?

Any team news?

The electricity was off when I arrived at 7.15 or so, the Gosport team were standing out the front of the clubhouse, along with a number of Slough fans.

As soon as the ref called it off they were in their cars and gone, leaving some of their management behind I believe.

Within 5 minutes the power was back.

I arrived at 7 and for some reason even at that time Gosport were itching to leave and apparently were constantly badgering the ref to call the game off.

The latest the game could have started was 8.15. Talking to a few people the COMMON SENSE solution would have been to give it to 7.45 which would have given the teams time to change and have a warm up in time to start at 8.15.

Still, when have the words 'common sense' been part of a refs language.

think its safe to say Gosport players and management influenced the ref a bit at least. apparently they have another game tonight so you can sort of understand why they were happy to get out of there quick but common sense should have prevailed and as RR says leave it till the proposed start time at least before making a decision
