From what i understand,we would not be able to open the club anyway tonight, even if we wanted to.

Because of the athletics club,we are not allowed to open the premises on Monday, wednesdays and fridays.

This would then mean that should we want a social club,we would probably not be able to enter any teams in pool/darts leagues etc as these games would usually be played on tuesdays or wednesdays.

I believe these rules are in place to protect children who attend the clubs. But in all honesty if their parents actually took time to watch their kids train instead of dropping them off and picking them up which actually is more dangerous for children as the risk of getting run over is high if you have been near the stadium near picking up/dropping off time.

To not have a social club open on a friday is criminal and would mean losing money as it would probably be the busiest night apart from match nights.Just another kick in the teeth for us in all honesty.I think someone needs to talk to the athletics club and make them realise they are being unreasonable.

I have since heard that although the athletics club have protested before about people going in and out of the gates to enter the clubhouse, there is nothing they can do to stop people going in there any night.Apparantly it has been known for a long time that we cannot use the car park on monday and wednesday but nothing else.

Maybe the athletics club are trying to stop us using the clubhouse at any opportunity, maybe people are just getting their wires crossed. We did always have functions on a friday night so it obviously didn't apply then,so shouldn't change now

I dont think the athletic club would ever try to stop the club from earning revenue....

The football club and the athletics club have always had a very good relationship and there is no reason why this should not continue !!

We have never had any problems using the club house during the week and the car park on Fridays.

I think you may well be right about the wires crossed hun....!

from the dealings i have had with one or two women on the gate(for the athletics) when the club has been open on a wednesday i get the feeling that a couple of them think that because we are football fans this puts the kids in danger.

Surely if the club was open then some parents could watch their kids from the bar while having a coffe or something. It would benefit all parties
