Bennett was available to play for Totton on the Tuesday after we'd played them, so in many respects, we got lucky twice!

But, after going through a rough patch they seem to have turned the corner with a win against Burnham and draws with Windsor and Uxbridge in their last 3 games.

slough should never fear anyone at home in this league. hopefully we can carry over our confidence boosting win from Saturday and grab another win. i fear fatigue may catch us up though with so many games in a row and i don't think Gosport have played for over a week have they??

I predict a 2-1 victory for Slough. Rebels to go two up and then let one in towards the end, giving us a heart stopping last ten minutes. But we survive for another great win.

Gosport aren't very pleased.

 

After announcing they have hit a financial crisis (why they sold top scorer Bennett) they have to fork out to make the trip twice!

It was mentioned that we will have to pay their travelling costs and then claim them back from the league.

They haven't sold Bennett have they? He's on loan to Totton I think. But I did hear they'd put him on a long contract, which seems silly to me.

Reading Rebel, the game will probably be replayed on cup-tie terms ie they receive their travelling expenses plus half of the profits from the gate. The league do not pay for any expense claims.

 

Matt you're right, short term loan until the end of the season and he's on a 4 year contract.

Why on earth would you put anyone on a 4 year contract at this level? It seems crazy to have that kind of financial commitment.

 

Will be interesting to see what happens, given that most of our home support are season-ticket holders, so wouldn't this mean Gosport will get very little from the gate?

The gate money issue will be determined by the league board. We will be liable for Gosports travelling costs to the game last night.

Well if they had stayed till the kick off time then they would not have needed to travel twice!

 

The ref called the game off too early - usual practice is to give it 30 mins after the kick off time - so Gosport players pushed the ref to call it off early.

 

F'them, they got it called off early so let it be at their cost!

I must say i have never seen anyone leave so quickly after the refs

decision, The way they sped out of the car park I thought had been

transported back to Sunday and was watching the F1 Grand Prix again!

There is no written guideline as to when the decision should be made. I'll get a full representation of what happened last night on here later.
