I hope I have'nt missed something but no-one seems to have acknowledged the tremendous achievement that Dover have made. After Saturdays result what a way to do do it. WELL DONE!.

dover are nowhere near as good as chelmo or wombles last season.

the only reason they have the title wrapped up this quickly is due to the rest of the league being unable to string more than a couple of wins in a row together.

Of the two game hornchurch played against dover i thought they were poor.

Good luck to Dover, they are paying good money to thier players and I hope for their sake that they can cope with that pressure. Good gates help but an average of around 1000 is not fantastic and they need other major sponsorship to survive. Next season could be very interesting paticularly with the current financial conditions. Overall must give them credit they have spanked the rest of the League and our previously favourite local rivals have now moved on to pastures new I hope that we might join them again in a couple of seasons.

A good assessment GT. It seems to me that football, even at our level, is littered with clubs who have paid out a lot to get promotion, players etc, ultimately it has gone pear shaped and the clubs are in difficulty. In such situations I have to admire the die-hard supporters who have kept them going. Whether or not the teams in Conference South are going to be attractive enough to bring in much extra support remains to be seen - we never had much chance to find that out in our season, playing at Ashford.

My hope for next season is that we see the same bunch of players that we currently have, all of whom give the impression of being prepared to run through a brick wall for the club and their colleagues. Hopefully, and whatever the outcome of this season, this good late run will give them more confidence for the start of next season.

You referred to my thread - what do you think about what I actually wrote though?

I agree Gary that if we can keep our current crop of players and add a few more we could well be a force next season. As we all know confidence is a key thing in football.

DAFC are now a extremely well run club and are self sufficient without the directors having to put their hands in their pockets according to the Chairman. JP has done a fantastic job for us and in Hess has a manager with the same drive he has, the ground is looking good and the team are a joy to watch. At the back of this all is the fact that the fans stayed loyal throughout the dark days and this gave people the belief to invest in us. Hopefully you will rise again and renew the rivalry with us again, keep the faith and keep supporting your team.

Good post MRP forget the rubbish you get from Ramsgate "fans" on this forum we have always had a good rivalry and from my point of view you have resurrected your club from days similar to what we are experiencing now so lets hope we can learn a few lessons and move on to a brighter future and see you again soon.
