can any one explain to me why if Jason & Grant were joint managers, how come Jason has been let go? i thought partners meant you get the praise together and you get the flack together, so has Jason been made a scapegoat for our recent results?

Well good luck Jason all the best

Is it not a bit odd to make the change three days before the transfer deadline? Doesn't give the new managr much time to freshen up the squad.

Last season, the manager of my club (Ashford Town (Middlesex)) offered to resign in November when we were bottom. The Chairman refused to accept the resignation and we finished sixth, so it's not always about changing the gaffer.

We know it's not always changing the Manager, but sometimes it is needed. If the chairman and the manager himself feels that the time is up, then you have to respect that.

I wouldn't say that it was a bit odd for the change either. We might not even have a new manager in place by Tuesday, we might not have even signed anyone in the first place. However hopefully there will be a manager in place for the last few games of the season so that he would be able to assess the players and see who should be aprt of the squad and who shouldn't.

It's a shame things didn't work out for Jason. I know he worked really hard. It just shows what a tough job this management lark is. I'm sure it won't be long before he's back in football. All the best Jason!

It's been an open secret for a while that Grant would be moving "upstairs". It will be a very important and challenging role and one I think that will be right up Grant's street.

With regards to the new manager, obviously we don't know who will apply, but my tuppence worth would be to agree with those that prefer a completely fresh face. It's interesting to note that the chairman has asked for "a proven track record in football management at semi professional or higher level..." so that suggests we're looking for a bit more experience this time round. There certainly seems to be some strong candidates available at the moment.

Big game on Tuesday - Let's get behind the lads

Come on you Blues!!

Hi,

I no longer live in Billericay but supported the football club over 30 years ago during their glory days. What great football that was. Bring back Freddie Clayden, Doug Young etc.

Whatever you do don't get Gary Hill as your next manager. He was manager of my local team - St Albans. The quality of football was c**p and he repeated the style at Dagenham and Rushden.

Oh, ... and he also head butts opposition officials as well !

Broomy's leaving was the natural conclusion of what has been a 'Ricay Horror Show' of a season. His tenure has been dogged with injuries and IMO, he (and Grant Gordon) have been massively let down by the performances (and non-appearance) of some players this season. I thought his appointment may have been too soon into his managerial career but I guess a Billericay 'old boy' coming back and leading us to glory is always a tempting one! He still remains one of my all time favourite players though! Good luck to him.
