Epsom and Ewell 0 Egham Town 3

Freak weather up at Mount Merland (how I love it up there) saw the players and officials sheltering from hail for 3-4 minutes under the stand. This was the only time that elapsed really between the 1st and 2nd Egham goals . The third one was considered well offside by spectators much more unbiased and well balanced than myself.(The behind the goal crew took all the hailstorm out in the open) .Credirt to Egham for adapting to the conditions well in the second half and taking their chances.

Played well the first half without scoring and had a bit of a go at the end which pleased me. Maybe a case of what comes around comes around as we turned several tight games our direction earlier in the season that could have gone the other way and this one went against us. Good to see Rattled back though

It's nearly time to contact Senator Green Pea and his colleagues to say we've seen the exit polls in Ohio but lets see what next week brings.

IMHO BG dropped 2 points today but did enough to at least deserve the chance to take all 3 with 3 stonewall penalties turned down by the referee who other than those 3 decisions had a good game. An even first half saw few chances and neither team really deserving to take a lead. BG had a dominating 20 min spell from around the hr mark where we hit the bar and had another hacked off the line when Miner chipped past the keeper. Molesey then had their best spell in the last 5 minutes and thankfully a couple of good saves from Pearcy and a top last ditch tackle from Sentence saved the point. A frustrating 0-0 until I heard the Epsom result...

While I'm having a whinge about the pen decisions I should mention the linesman on the stand side as I have never seen such a busy assistant referee in all my time of watching football. He called the referee over on at least three occasions, two of which followed 50/50s and resulted in bookings both times for Molesey players. Moles had a freekick in the first half under his nose and although the ref appeared happy with the positioning of the 2 man wall the lino strides onto the pitch and marches out what he thinks is the correct distance which looked more like 15 yards! Needless to say the flag was up almost every time either team looked like getting in behind the defences, often because he couldn't keep up with play.

A draw was a fair result, both teams had good spells and both teams had chances

The Linesman was doing his job... Would you prefer he didn't assist the referee and then complaining when the referee made the wrong decision?

One last thing, and this isn't a dig, for a team that are comfortably top of the league it was a bit disappointing to only have a few away fans there today

Scored four & should & could have had alot more goals today. Good team performance with Ash being more committed than Bookham right from the first whistle. Just wish we could have started the season like this

A draw was definitely a fair result..........BUT I disagree about the linesman/ref. There were several unnecessary bookings, one of the examples GP gave the players had all set up to get on with the game, no one was complaining, yet he booked the Molesey player.

Yet the linesman and the ref missed 2 stonewall penalties. The first where the goalie got nowhere near the ball and took the player out of the game. There was also a possible 3rd, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt there.

It is all very well assisting the ref, but do it when he really needs you.

Elf Mole .

As you say about away fans , we don't get many at home let alone away fans comming too. But it was a pleasure to see some of my old friends still there in the bar. Hope you do well for the rest of the season . .

Based on todays performance you won't need any of my luck to go up...

But good luck anyway!

Cheers Elf Mole.

Our support is actually on the up but one of the contributing factors is that we still run 6 Saturday sides accomodating people that have been with the club for 15-20 years in some cases. If they wasn't still playing I'm sure they would come and support as they are club people. Great chanting from the Moles fans yesterday but I recall your visit to us earlier in the season and there was less than half of you at Stag Meadow wink

Agree with Aupostie and Jake, Ash deserved the win yesterday, we were out muscled and never got going, probs our worst performance of the season.

Chance to put it right against Cove on Tuesday

At the start of this season i thought Camberley and Chertsey would just be challenging for promotion. Well done Bedfont Green they have run away with it.

I must say i do feel sorry for camberley they have lost alot of players, One to cove who is now there top scorer and one to RPV who is there top goal scorer.

Very unlucky.

No need for sympathy Wimbo2 needless draws against teams we really should have beaten earlier in the season have been the downfall. However beating the Champions in waiting 6 - 0 at

Krooner is some comfort and we wish them every success in the Ryman or the BGB following on from the good show Merstham have given after promotion last year from the Combined Counties.
