Crescent Rovers 0 - Dorking F.C. 3

Dorking got back to winning ways on Saturday with a strong win at Crescent Rovers, the team that had overturned Chicks 2-1 back in January in the CCL division 1 league cup.

Once more Dorking on form striker Phil Page got on the score sheet, for the 11th consecutive game, and in truth Dorking could have won by more as Chicks dominated the game from start to finish. Manager Tony Webb though will be pleased to put the defeat at home to Farnham Town behind the team as the season moves into its final month.

Other results were not kind to Dorking, immediate rivals Hanworth Villa securing a 1-0 win at bottom side Chobham, while Knaphill also managed a one goal win over Warlingham, but Mole Valley SCR lost unexpectedly, although Chicks fellow Mole Valley side seem already out of sight given the points they already have in the bag.

Dorking went into the game without Jesse Davis and it was something of a different formation for Dorking as John Kennedy and Charlie Fournier came into the side with Andy Briant adding some midfield experience and Paul West being pushed into midfield as Dorking looked for a solid performance, Martin Waldren and Adie Butler being rested on the bench

Dorking bossed the first half but only had Dan Clayton's goal to show for their strong play midway through the period, the goal coming straight from a corner. Indeed such was Dorking's superiority that Crescent Rovers rarely troubled Dan Coote's goal, and the second Dorking goal killed any chance of a home side come back.

That goal came on 64 minutes, after a James White "goal" had been disallowed, as following a period of sustained pressure Adie Butler crossed to the far post for that man Page to nip in between the defender and the goalkeeper to net his 25th goal of the season.

Dorking were now well on top and it was no surprise when a thumping Adam Pero shot from the edge of the box began to reflect Dorking's dominance with a third goal 7 minutes from time.

All in all a good afternoon's work for Chicks, the main aim being to get back to winning ways and remain in touch with those sides above Dorking in the league table. Dorking now face Farleigh Rovers on Saturday at Meadowbank.

Dan Coote, John Kennedy, Alex Hill, Charlie Founier, Roy Newman, Andy Briant, Dan Clayton, James White, Phil Page, Adam Pero, Paul West.
