coupwotcoup
....will take place on Saturday April 4. Presumably we will have to move our game at Southend Manor, or if not, maybe a minute's silence at 3pm? I suppose she will be fvcking beatified next. She was just a thick slapper who unfortunately died of cancer, as do thousands of other poor women in this country
Darter
She was a girl who had the worst of starts in life but who nevertheless showed that she wasn't as daft as people thought she was. She was a product of her time and her place. There is no need to have a go at her now, is there?
TB&G
That was a humourless and unkind post Coups. What ever she was she deserves a gentle going!
MCP
Yeah its sad she died or whatever but lots of people die of cancer all the time and they don't get all the publicity she did just because she was in some reality tv show

Being in the media glare allowed her to publicise the needless suffering and death that this particular cancer can bring. Directly because of her a lot of women will survive due to early screening. Not a bad legacy from a little gal from Essex...

coupwotcoup
I did say unfortunately die as have lots of women and it is sad to see anyone die But, why is she being treated like some saintly being? Just wait for April 4. It will be treated like some media circus, with all the Jeremy Kyle fodder turning out in their Saturday Primark best, with cut price Tesco flowers. Just like the saddos who turn out for soap opera fake funerals, believing that they are real - with copious amounts of weeping and a wailing. And as for cancer awareness, yes maybe it has done a lot of good, but isn't it a sad indictment on our society that it takes one inanity's death to prompt thousands of young girls to be tested? Perhaps the one good to come out of this, is that it might force the government to rethink it's policy on mandatory testing for women/girls under the age of 25, but of course that costs money and in six months time life and death will return to normal and any thoughts of that happening, will be consigned to the political dustbin. And finally, as for her not being daft..two words Max Clifford.
lesbos
i dont particularly know this woman as i avoid celebrity culture which can be easily done by simply not reading tabloid newspapers and watching trashy television. from what i do know of her the world will certainly not be a lesser place by her leaving, people are not simply a product of their time and place, we do have a certain amount of free will and human beings are more complex than some kind of sponge just feeding of its immediate enviroment and surroundings. it all started with the death of Princess Diana of course, the spectacle of emotional cripples filling their empty lives with grief for a woman they never knew. TB&G
I wasn't one of JG's greatest fans either but she didn't choose to be who she was or what she was. If she highlighted the cause of the importance of female cancer checks that will be her legacy not the one of dubious celebrity fame. Let her rest in peace! Not a bad legacy from a little gal from Essex... She was from Bermondsey! Too be fair I think its sad and despite what you may think of her she is leaving two little boys without a mum. She never hid the fact she was using the media to make money for her kids when she died..and why not? The media made millions slagging her off, building her up, knocking her down. If she made a million quid filming her death but the charity made 20 million and it raises awareness of cancer so what! Apparently there has been a 20% increase in smear tests in the last 3 months. That is staggering if you compare it to the endless campaigns the government run to no avail. Love them or hate them celebrity's have their uses and if they get a bit of publicity, money and a feel good factor for helping a charity raise awareness and money then so be it. That is how the World works!

Hookey
Cheers True Blue. Just on the subject of Jade, if she really was as dim as portrayed, then was she really responsible for the publicity surrounding her death, or was that down to that oil slick "Publicist" Max Clifford? Reminds me of Colonel Parker!!

and1inthetree
it is a tragedy a young mother has died of cancer. her career was washed up and she was being branded as low-life racist scum by the very same media that has for the past few months been running feature after feature on "brave jade". the hypocrisy of the media and of the public who are spoon-fed their opinions by the press is astounding with regards to jade goody. max clifford did what was asked and milked this for all the cash it was worth. all there is to it imo. and1inthetree
the first world war was a folly. the huge loss of life on both sides as a direct result of said folly was a tragedy. re: gazza - i thought you avoided celebrity culture and it was easily done by simply not reading tabloid newspapers and watching trashy television? lesbos
well all fecking wars are a folly arent yet, cant see why the first world war was any dafter than all the others and germany had every right as a young country to build up a empire in the same way that every other european nation had. i rarely watch t v at all but couldnt resist tuning in to see gazza making a twat of himself.
