That's why they are doing well!It was about time that the selection criteria considered players outside the M25 radius. The previous manager was only calling players from Romford,Hornchurch and Thurrock!!!The rest of the Essex county wasn't even considered.Howard Mackler has changed that and i'm glad about it.

Chancer, sorry I don't know who you are, however, the reason for the above group of players playing against Suffolk is that it is the same squad (with 2 exceptions) from the squad which played, won and played exceptionally well against Bedfordshire in the previous game, and I try and be as loyal as possible. As well as that, 12 of the squad are actually young enough to play next season as well. It is extremely difficult, given the size of the County to get round to as many games as I would like, and this season has been even more disjointed given the weather, however, I am always delighted to hear of players recommended by others and will as a result, do my utmost to come and watch them if I have not already seen them. As you may know, last season, Tony Ievoli at Hornchurch was extremely helpful and provided a number of players for the County, so I can safely say I will travel to wherever to make the County side as successful as possible.

yes Tony I have known for over 15 years IN BOTH YOUTH AND SENIOR FOOTBALL, there was a time to be trueful he put alot of known county park players in the district team and again in the essex team, but agree there is alot of talent about that still gets missed, one lad especially Scott Herbert, Thurrock u16's. As for my past I was connect to Romford FC. I also believe, we dont have enough decent pitches about and training facilities in Havering, plus at a sensible hiring cost. If it helps I have set up together with Head Coach Vince Nicol a very popular goalkeeping school www.vincenicollgoalkeeping.com producing good quality keepers, we are working in partnership and supplying West Ham United FC goalkeeping academy, which maybe of interest to you.
