Isnt he still involved in a legal battle with Cheshunt, claiming he and his "assistants" are (allegedly) still owed money??

It all got a bit nasty at one point with both Tom and the Cheshunt Chairman publicly slinging mud at each other by virtue of the local rag.

The Tottenham Journal covers the change of Management at Coles Park in tomorrow's edition:

It sounds like Tom Loizou was unlucky at Hertford Town last night in his bow for the Club:

More coverage of Tom Loizou in the Tottenham Journal today and a face to the name, the article Jonno posted though is somewhat worrying and he could eventually turn on Haringey Borough in the same fashion with their Chairman's track record:

This article suggests there will only be one relegation place from the premier. If that's the case, Cockfosters, Haringey and Kentish Town can breath easy and the likes of Hatfield and Hoddesdon can forget about going up.

That is, of course, if the local journo has the facts at his disposal...

Does anyone else find the annual guessing game about promotion/relegation frustrating? Would be far better if teams knew what they were playing for before the season started.

I guess that Mr Loizou was assuming that the loss of Berkhamstead Town accounted for one of the relegation spots. Who's to say? I have seen two different "clarifications" of the same FA direction on F ground grading failures by League Chairmen recently (SSMFL and Northern Counties East)- but then it WAS as clear as mud! My (uninformed) guess is that Hillingdon Borough and (unsubstantiated rumour only) Cheshunt relegated TO SSML Premier, Royston Town and Hatfield Town will be promoted from Division 1, and Holmer Green and one other relegated to Div 1. Kings Langley to be relegated to Div 2, and Hadley promoted to Div1, making 17 Div 2 clubs, and one new club accepted.

This piece in the New Camden Journal also states categorically that only one team will be relegated from the Premier Division due to the demise of Berkhamsted Town however I don't think it will be as simple as that, particularly for Kentish Town who I don't believe will be at the Copthall Stadium next season:

Backfour1 - Well that's obviously the million, sorry billion, dollar question isn't it, I expect all will be revealed in due course and certainly by the SSML AGM on Saturday 13 June.

I see that Tom Loizou is all over the Tottenham Journal like a rash again today ahead of Saturday's FA Cup tie at Preston Park. The bit that got me was Mr Loizou is expecting to get through to the third qualifying round yet the Club surely know full well that they are unlikely to get past Harefield United.

Think that it says that Loizou is 'cautiously optimistic for the weekend clash'

He said "If we play like we did in the second half against Kentish Town then I think we could get a result,"

Hardly 'expecting to get through' doh

Quote:

"The money doesn't count for too much at this stage, but when you get through the preliminary rounds it starts to build up, so we really need to win three or four games. "Playing in a competition like the FA Cup, they shouldn't need motivating from me. It's a chance for them to show what they're about, to get that extra exposure and publicity."

This is the quote I was referring to where Loizou states that the Club need to win three or four games in the competition which would take them to the third qualifying round based on four, two away from the first round proper. There is no way that is going to happen is there.
