Canvey = 10th best day out in Britain

the Times has published a list of the top ten days out in Great Britain and for some reason (im guessing a typo) Canvey has come in at number 10. they say

Quote:
10. Canvey Island, Essex

In the cheerful bustle of this modern resort it is easy to forget the 1953 storm surge flood that cost so many lives - though the locals have not. Canvey Island has a marvellously seasidey atmosphere, with golden sands, young families fishing for crabs from the seawall and Ove Arup's 1932 Art Deco beachfront Labworth Cafe giving wonderful views across the fairway to the Kent shore. It is a fine spot from which to enjoy a Thames barge match on a summer's day.

i found the real artical, they meant to say:

In the cheerful bustle of this modern resort it is easy to still see the damage from the 1953 storm surge flood that cost so many lives. Canvey Island has a marvellously seasidey atmosphere, there is tat to be bought everywhere, golden sands and dog $hit, very young families in school uniform fishing for crabs in their pants and Ove Arup's 1932 Art Deco beachfront Labworth Cafe giving wonderful views across the fairway to the Kent shore and over to the massive oil refinery at shell haven whos smog and fumes often fill the air. It is a fine spot from which to enjoy a Thames barge match on a summer's day or a teen group happy slapping and lighthearted car theft.
