Billericay 2-3 Dover

Recommended Posts

Encouraging performance I thought, particularly in the first half where we caused them a few problems with Shave as a centre forward alongside Flackie (would definitely make a tall forward no 1 on my shopping list). Thought Wayne had a good game on the right of midfield as well.

All 3 goals were a bit disappointing for us defensively, failing to pick up our markers and giving away possession in bad areas. Great free kick for the second though.

The difference between the two sides was that they had options on the bench to change the game - they could bring Schultz on to counter Shave. We looked tired towards the end... the walking wounded can't get fit quickly enough for us at the moment.

I thought we put in a very good performance today, definately didn't deserve to lose. I thought Shavesy had his best game for us today, probably MOTM.

Defensive errors which led to all of their goals being scored.. But it's not the first game it's happened so I think that needs to be sorted for next season. The new lad - Jack Higgins, I thought had a good game, especially for being a young age, and he was communicating a lot which was good to hear/see.

To make things worse, we went down 2 places, a few teams below us picked up points today which closed the gap between the bottom 4.

A quality free-kick from Hodgey!! Who needs a Penalty lol! And must say was good to see Nathan Elder back visiting.

Sounds like the guys gave a very good account of themselves today! Would have liked to have seen it! I bet it was an entertaining game. If we can raise a game/take the League leaders to 3-2 in a game like this it sounds like there's tonns of hope, and with a little fine tuning the future is bright!

A very good match. I had been pretty fed up with the standard of Ryman football before today. Dover are an excellent footballing side and it was good to welcome their friendly and knowledgable supporters.

As ever we raised our game against a quality side and certainly played our part although in all honesty Dover did look as though they were doing "just enough".

Joe had a good game up front and worked really hard, I thought Paul Shave was excellent, Wayne played well as mentioned before, and what a great goal from Lee - as good as anything Ronaldo can produce!! To me he made the difference to our performance, a bit of experience and quality that we have missed. Despite conceding 3 I thought Jack Higgins looked a really useful player.

For me this was the game of the season,

I thought everyone played to win and it looked like a team performance from start to finish, shame we lost out but well played.

Games like this win or lose is why i am proud to be a Billericay supporter, well done lads.

I was impressed with the late sub's chatting & lucas great effort and got well in involved with the opposition.

Sorry i had to leave early (Did i mention we won the grand slam?) but was pleased to be able to applause the team after the game.

Tuesday????? Bring it on..

I thought we did well yesterday, particularly in the first half and I think a neutral would have had difficulty picking out which team was top of the league. Unfortunately as often seems to be the case, the team used to winning wins and the team that isn't doesn't.

I thought we offered more going forward than we have for quite a while, which was interesting seeing as we played with nil out and out wingers and also one-off (Shave) the main striker. With Dormer back and Hodgie in we looked much better on the ball and that's a situation that I believe will get better still when Adrian Deane comes in.

The disppointing thing is that we could have done better with all of their goals but as TC wisely said before most goals do come from mistakes.

I agree with Simon about a big front man (I'd like a big centre-mid too but) but unfortunately they're not too easy to find at any level. Hopefully Grant & co will unearth one for next season.

We do need a couple of wins now though to ensure we don't start getting twitchy but if we can continue with what we saw today we should be fine.

Come on you Blues!!

Great team performance with every player giving max effort. As has been said Jack higgins looked good and Shaves did what he told me he was ging to do when he arrived "let dover know he is here" Well done a very disciplined performance. What a great corner from young H from which Dunc nearly scored. reckon its the best coner Ive seen all season. Lets hope the lads can repeat this on Tuesday.

The game was good entertainment, and result aside, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

We looked like a team, our lads looked like they also enjoyed the game, we kept and passed the ball well, Paul Shaves had an excellent game, we are so much stronger when Dormer plays, Harrison is getting better game by game, The novelist settled quickly and looks to be a good signing, and Hodges goal will get my vote for goal of the season, (but don't let him know, because I've told him that now he's management doesn't qualify)

Bring on the marsh dwellers, That was a pint of Fosters Swift, and another 16 for my mates Rick

I actually thought in the first 15 mins we did not let Dover get into a rythm and (i think) JL said it was difficult to tell who was top of the league. I liked the lad from R&D too, and i think he enjoyed himself too. It was a much more team like performance that we have been used to over the past few seasons. My only regret is that we appeared to weaken as Dover hit the third (which incidentally) should not have stood after the right hook thrown by 15. Dover ultamately deserved to win (imo) but what is the point of a lino when they do not do anything if the ref has missed seeing something themselves. Anyway, good luck to Dover in connie south.

Now then, Hodgies goal. Now come on folks ! It was a penalty ! How funny it is when we are all screaming for one (players included) and everyone gets a tad downbeat when only a freekick is awarded. Then ! 5 seconds later BANG !!! Awesome Hodgey ! That is all you can say...

But i still think the ref should then have said..."Ok you have scored from the freekick, now i shall award a penalty too" Hahaha if only rules could work like that at times !

But, first and foremost, we must not let it slip that we are just 5 points clear of the drop zone. Lets get the points on the board as quickly as we can lads.
