As for Wild - well just stupid having ben booked earlier. Stupid anyway regardless.

Agree completely with this - if the Aveley 15 had dropped the ball, and not tried to slow the game down by stopping Rudi from having it back, then there wouldn't have been a problem. I don't think Rudi did a lot wrong, other than trying to get the ball back to take the free kick. Wild on the other hand was pretty stupid, especially as he'd already been booked. I think it was a second yellow - can't see how a push in the chest can warrant a red, but I'm not sure.

Thought we played well, and with a bit of luck could have got something out of the game. McKoy was my MoM, although there were a lot of good performances (especially May, who I think could be a real asset). I've seen us play the top two teams in the league, and match them these last two weekends, which can only be a good thing. Fair play to the guy who scored the winner for Aveley though, a strike of that quality probably deserved to be the winning goal!

I think at U-18 (and perhaps to a lesser degree at U-16) level, and with Jason Holmes promoted into the first team squad & lots of the boys playing regularly in the Capital League, I suspect that it's probably more than we realise/appreciate.

I anticipate that we'll also see the youngest ever first team player before the end of the season.

Assuming Dave Blower's still recovering from Saturday and unable to play, I guess we'll start with David Allen at right back and drop Nick McCoy into the back 4. What we can't do, as happened twice last week, is to have no natural defender on the bench. Alternately, leave Nick in midfield and play Matt Attard at c/h with Ricky Stoyles on the bench.
