Surely something could be added into the MyFC small print, and a small, but highly trained squad of 'persuaders' armed only with flags, scarves, small calibre weapons and cattle prods could be dispatched every Saturday morning to round up those who don't comply... And to be perfectly honest - 100 is crap, utter bollix. With the huge membership numbers you have, MyFC should be able to get at least that to every home game, plus add on those who can only make it now and then. It should be easier now, as those who joined recently will KNOW what team they have signed up for...

Don't you think the majority of our fan base should be local? Gravesham has a population of 95,717 according to the 2001 census. We are lucky as a club, to average 1,200 or less per home game. If our average local support was greater, say 2,500 a week, would we be so worried about Myfc members attending home fixtures? I would suggest not. They would just be a added extra The argument that they are not a real supporter unless they attend home matches, to me is not a good one. Don't away games count as real matches? To me if you have paid your money, and your your sitting in a stand, or on the terraces, cheering on your team, every two weeks, at away games, then your a supporter in my eyes. It is no different surely to fans who just attend home games? The argument about putting money through the home turn-style and being a real supporter are different animal's in my opinion! I actually know season ticket holders of premiership clubs, that hold away season tickets only. As they prefer it as it is mainly the same people there week after week. Darter
Yorkfox talks perfect sense, as ever (Keith xx). I think for some MyFCers - they just don't want to go to games. They like the internet thing. And of course, some are living overseas, but they are putting money in - I bought a load of merchandise on behalf of a member in the States, it's their way of contributing. I know we need bigger home gates and for that we have to focus on local people, whether they be MyFC members or not.
Darter
Oh and Bustagut - yes, we can make a difference at away games. Especially the northern ones. It isn't easy to get to York, to Northwich and of course this season to Barrow if you live in Kent. We know the local regularly-travelling fans, we see them at all the northern games and there is a good atmosphere when we are together.
PatMan
Busta - I can't disagree with anything you have said... It would be fantastic if the Gravesham people appreciated their local team, but has been proved before - they dont! The club have tried so many ways to get the locals to turn up, but they just aren't interested. Thats the big difference between them and MyFC people, they have joined cos they ARE interested! I am am not saying that just cos they don't attend home games, they are not supporters - but that support doesn't financially benefit the club... Although from comments, it does give the team a huge boost! Hopefully once they have seen Fleet away, they will also make the journey to experience a home game! Darter
I think we will see a lot more support both home and away this next season. MyFC only signed the deal with Ebbsfleet in February, as you know. We were told before that that it wasn't a "done deal" till then. Some MyFC members said that they didn't want to get too excited about Ebbsfleet in case it fell through. So in effect, we have only had 3 months where it's all been official for MyFC. This next season will be different.
Shurm
I joined MYFC to see how it all turned out I hoped my home town team had been chosen and I still wish it had been. Ebbsfleet was the chosen team who I remembered being Gravesend and Northfleet from Stanleys Conferance days, I then started to watch for their results bought a shirt and some stuff and started boring everyone I knew about them and to get involved as well. I struggle to get to Stanley games as I work most weekends and only really get chance to go to some home midweek games. I couldn't make it to Stonebridge Road during the week and to be honest even at weekends if I was off I would find it expensive to travel on a regular basis. I see myself as an Ebbsfleet fan I went to Wembley I will go at least once next season to a home game (promise) and I will try to get to the nearby away games but not everyone is a hardcore fan like most people on here. Most MYFC people will do their best to support your club (and theirs now I suppose) the best they can and I would think the club would be grateful of any extra support or other financial income from them. And if you take away the number of those fans who do turn up and who dont' live in the town either, it's even worse! Let's face it, there's a high percentage of us who travel in from places that aren't in the Gravesham borough... People of Gravesend should be ashamed of themselves not supporting the fleet. Shurm
Its similar here with Stanley, got in the Football League not winning anymore no money and crowds the lowest in the Football League everyone is now saying they would still rather be in the Conference, winning and with more floating supporters coming to watch a winning side. Apathy is the word.

I wouldn't want to go to Lancaster's games. I don't have any friends in Lancaster and the only people I know who go to football matches are my friends from MyFC! Yorkfox
When I was talking to people at Wembley, the conversations tended to go, " I am a member of MYFC , but my 2 mates are not, but I am working on them ". I know it helps the income if these people do join up, but I kept telling people that it doesnt really matter, just if you come, try and bring a couple of mates with you. Darter
I still think that for home games, we have to work to get locals in. I think we will also get more MyFCers and I'll start a thread on that forum about local MyFCers making a commitment to get to home games. There have been a couple of threads running on the MyFC forum about strategies to promote the club locally - there are a number of people with specialist marketing backgrounds, including a number who have their own businesses and they are joining together to look at these issues for the club. This is possibly another fringe benefit that MyFC can bring - specialist skills at no cost.
