McCoy mom by a yorkshire mile.

I thought FYT said a 0-0 score would have fairly reflected the two teams? and therefore a small difference between the teams. McCoy has been a success story to date and May looks as if he is in the same class if not then better.

Well Jones needs reigning in or kicking out, Wild needs to be told of responsibilities too, if he is to be part of a title challenge next season, cos he too is an able player.

How serious was Deanes injury? And at least Dave Allen is showing good consistency.

One positive note is we are not leaking 3's and 4's anymore.

In other words "I haven't actually seen many games but that won't stop me criticising". Well I've actually seen most of the games and I'd say he's had one or two bad ones but is clearly a very good player.

It seems you and EU are slightly isolating yourselfs amonst fellow supporters with your acceptance of poor displays and poor results,in what is already a poor league.(even if those displays are now hopefully -well mostly- in the past).Didn't you notice most of your fellow long term pals were absent yesterday.Even the likes of Brunob and Mr Hicks are demoralised and apathetic towards following the club after the standard of football produced by their team this year.

I acknowledged that McCoy has had two or three decent games recently (of which i didn't personally witness. As i indicated in my previous post).I don't doubt that he has played well.Several fans who's opinion i repect have mentioned that recently. What i was saying is that in the games i have been present at,he has been disapointing.Yesterday he had a very quiet game again.Although he did look fitter than a few weeks ago.

I think that highlights the continued inconsistancy in the perfomances of most of the new players.Remi and Edgar for example can look dangerous and 'up for it' one game, and the next they look unintersted and lethargic. As they did yesterday.Although i do accept that overall things are finally starting to move in the right direction.Whether they can move enough to make us promotion candidates next season is still debatable.

Ps..How anyone can not give Dave Allen MOM yesterday is beyond me.He showed a determination to win the ball back for his team and a drive to get forward that was sorley lacking in most of his teammates.

Wouldn't football be dull if we all had the same opinions? I thought the level of commitment from the ETFC players was good yesterday and a draw would have been a fair result.

We weren't able to raise our game at the top end of the pitch.

First half I thought the Aveley No 11 was the best player on the pitch - but Dave Allen was outstanding against him once he switched to right back.

Crap.
He did not punch anyone.
He very stupidly used 2 hands to "push" the 15 in the back.
Straight Yellow - no question, but why o why get involved especially when already on a yellow ??????

Gave Ref no option.

If the old guard had been turning in consistent winning performances over the past two or three seasons I might agree that you have a point. But they hadn't. Change should have started some time ago, but Jim Chandler didn't have the guts to let the old favourites go. SM made his first attenpt in the summer and didn't make a very good job of it, with the result that most of the old guard were still there at Christmas.

We're now in the second attempt, which seems to have SB's fingerprints on it, and I think we're moving in the right direction. Certainly the current squad is doing far better than August's.

The problems have been brewing for years. You can't expect them to be reversed in a few weeks in mid-season. Let's see what it looks like come the end of April.

Agree with you about David Allen yesterday. He got my MOM vote but I was outvoted.

Fair points.Even so, SM has been at the helm for a year now and should have had the team at this stage after three or four months, rather than the 12 months+ it has took.

This term can be classed as a wasted season.Lets hope we HAVE finally laid the seeds for a promotion.Even if it is now for next season.

Agree totally Tom.

LS your swinging from one view to another, something you see me doing, I have said all along that its about out with the old and in with the new.

The new included Dauti, Hahn, Hammond, Alderton and Willis all of which were'nt up to our expectations, add the egos of Tickner, Bastian, Crace and the problems that existed in considerable depth can be seen. All in hindsight of course which is a wonderful thing cos I remember supporters with druelling comments at the new signings at the begginning of the season, but then turned when results were poor.

Like Tom states, a nucleous seems to be forming nicely for next season with hopefully additions of quality players who make themselves available for the new season from this years teams.

Unlike some,i never swing from one view to another.

The policy of signing new players was/is very random and very hit and miss. For every good player signed, another three have turned out to be duds.Surely the management can't be applauded for getting rid of loads of players THAT THEY BROUGHT TO THE CLUB???

As i say,we finally look to be heading in the right direction (thank god),but progress has been very slow in getting to the point we are now.Even so,i hope we carry on progressing because we will still struggle to make a play-off spot next season unless we improve further still.

LS-I agree with a lot of your last posting, however, Ellis, Deane, Wild and Hughes have been success's, I know they are only a few straws for comfort. But those 4 add Walton and the SB recruits it looks goodish with potential too.

We need to add 6-7 quality players for a quality 17-18 man squad for next season, I think this is also the view of the 3 wisemen as well.

Would you rather they refused to admit they'd made a mistake and carried on selecting the players in question?

I agree with LS why should THEY be congratulted for getting rid of poor players that THEY brought in?

The question should be why did they make these mistakes bringing in players that were not up to it in the first place and just drained money away from the club before they made the right choice to get rid of them?

Where I was I thought the lad up front on his own was outstanding the central two just behind were tight and very much on their game and the two at the back were solid with perfect timing.
