David Holden
I've just started reading Garry Nelson's "Left Foot Forward", and I found this paragraph particularly apt for those moaners who are always on the player's backs Ah the beautiful game! Don't you just love moments like that! Every player runs into them, of course. You continually meet the fan who knows best - what jockeys call the rider in the stands. Their opinionated commetnts ought to be water off a duck's back. But the game's not that kind. However misinformed or based on ignorance it may be, what is said still touches a raw nerve in virtually every player. And never improves his game. Think about that next time you feel like slagging off somebody having a 'mare of a game. Put it this way: do you really think he doesn't know already? If it's like that playing in front of a large crowd, just think how much worse it must be out our level where individual comments can be heard much more easily. Hempstead Gaz
Every player can and does have an off day, be feeling tired after a hard week at work, illness or just their monthlies!!! All players know when they playing crap, so does the manager. It is at times like this when managers show their true quality and substitute the player before any further morale damage can be caused. The only valid reason I can think when it is reasonable to moan is when a player clearly isn't trying. If a player is playing poorly but is still giving 100% there can be no excuse for critisism, and is at times like these we need to get behind the player. Must confess, I heard very little moaning from the Stonebridge Road side last year, but then nearly all of the team were totally committed all season. Richard C
From behind the goal there must have been only 2 regular moaners all year and that’s not bad out of a few hundred either. Does get on my nerves when players are criticised so much, especially when unhealthy or invalid criticism.
David Holden
There is a group that stand in front of the tea hut. First it was Boothy, then Simon Parker and Che.
Jimmy
Those same cretins were the same ones shouting for Fordy to bring Che on when he wasn't even in the country.

Alan ( GNFC )
Dave , as a bit of light reading have you tried Full Time , Tony Cascarino's autobiography . It's available at all airports and a good read , especially for those of us who grew up in North Kent about the time of him moving from Crockenhill to the Gills . Jessica
I agree, once again with Matt re Boothy, his confidence was at rock bottom when he left us. The moaners in front of the T bar really get on my nerves and I am afraid I have on one or two occasions asked them why they bother turning up week after week. Yes you pay your money etc etc. But please, shouting abuse at your own players!! these people have obviously lost the plot, are usually first in the stupid rumour queue and it would appear last in the lets support out team one. Unfortunately they do not just stop moaning at home matches, they are just as bad at away games, Question on my lips is WHY!!!! DO THEY TURN UP AT ALL? David Holden
While discussing a particularly tough training session Sure enough here comes the call to arms, We're despatched on a twelve-minute run whose minimum requirement is that we complete eight laps of the full pitch within that span. The going was not to the liking of two of our thoroughbreds. With back and hamstring twinges respectively, Carlo and Paul Sturgess pull themselves up. If you feel like this, why do you bother associating with us? I, like many, really couldn't see the relevance of your posting. Nobody attacks you, yet you choose to attack.....what a complex you have there. I think that I'll close this thread before things get out of hand.
