Ware Score

Yep. Sent off during his brief spell there - I think he was actually suspended when he rejoined us. Third of the season equals an extra two games and I think he's also reached ten yellows for the season which will add another two.

But how many times does it take to get a scene right, he could take 10/11 goes, but finally he'll get it right.

With football if he gets 1 tackle wrong he's in the book, he doesn't have 10/11 chances to get a tackle right.

According to the FA website Jonesy begins a 2 match ban for 10 bookings on Saturday 28th, which means that Saturday 14th was his 10th and yesterday was his 11th.

Dave Blower has been a solid part of our recent improvements, very unspectacular, takes no chances and looks as if his strengths are reading the game and having bundles of intelligence to go along with it.

He has been our best right back this season.

Not having a go EU,but didn't you recently say Blower was a weak link at the back (along with Dave Allen),and you couldn't wait till your favourite right back was fit and available again?

Dunno about weak link but I classed the right back and a centre half as a requirement for improvement, indeed. However, that was after the Witham home game, which, I've seen all our games since and Blower has been solid but (as I said) unspectacular and has played his part of the good recent run we are having, along with Dave Allen who has given us more slices of the ball than mothers pride but has defended well. Reiss Noel is a class act though, but like others he has his place to fight for now and i'm sure he will rather than throw his toys out the pram should he be on the bench or left out.

Young Healy has also won me over, I watch him warm up and also see him in the pre match handshakes and expect him to be a flop, but to the contrary, his performances have been nothing less than exceptional to date, may it continue.

Your admiration for Jones is understandable cos he is a capable player. But dont forget he singlehandedly cost us 2 goals away to Leyton and also left his man totally unmarked for ETU's second goal, so very much a Jackal & Hyde player. However (as Barney so excellent explained in his posting) he is also a liability. He plays alongside McCoy who oozes class, strength, discipline and in all his games has yet to receive a booking, let alone sendings offs. Jones was the only player to be cautioned on Tuesday in a very mild mannered game. Your mistaken on his first booking as it was for dissent, which he was lucky not to be booked for in earlier unneccessary whinges and sarcasm towards the ref. Also bare in mind we were 3-0 up when he received his first caution.

A player who has been outstanding since the 15th minute of the ETU home game has been Danny May, I think Marcel is a class act but Danny has given Marcel a task of winning his place back too, it's all looking and begginning to look much more healthier for the playing side of our club.

Just like the new found consistancy in selection, that will be another pleasant and welcome improvement.

It all bodes well for next season, so long as this crop of players are kept together, supported etc and additions are of similar or better levels.
