Sorry MST, but my sympathies are with AJ tonight. His second booking wasn't even a foul!

 

Second goal BTW was probably an own goal by Shaun Reece. Third goal was an absolute corker from Bill Healey, and Ware's last minute consolation the best goal of the game.

Yes it was a good performance against a youthful yet enthusiatic Ware team.

 

Andy Jones talked himself into a booking and then committed a rash 'yellow card' challenge. 2 yellows = 1 red. Therefore, off he went, eventually. Has he not learnt his lesson yet? Must be time for some amatuer dramatics.

i wouldnt really say ware were 'youthful'. thought your player was rightly sent off, dissent is one of the most stupid ways to get booked. duly punished. second goal for you lot was your players, was on target from my angle.

Could'nt agree more with your post.

Andy Jones was having a good game but has an ego and mentality that lets him down. My personal opinion is that a guy who has been suspended for 4 games already this season and now faces a 5 match ban is no good to our cause next season, no good having someone who can not play.

I thought we eased off in the second half and allowed Ware too much possession and time on the ball, they could have scored 1-2 more goals in the second half.

Aveley promises to be another good venture in setting the benchmark of where we are in playing strength.

Dave Blower has been a solid part of our recent improvements, very unspectacular, takes no chances and looks as if his strengths are reading the game and having bundles of intelligence to go along with it.

He has been our best right back this season.

5 match ban??? A two bookable sending off is normally a ONE match ban.

 

By the way,the form of Jones is one of the main factors why we are currently on this good run.

Not having a go EU,but didn't you recently say Blower was a weak link at the back (along with Dave Allen),and you couldn't wait till your favourite right back was fit and available again?

EU, where do you get this 5 game ban from ?
On the night and over the last 4 games Jonsie has more than played his part in the overall improvement of mid-field.
Last night his first yellow was for a "nothing" tackle but the Ref told him it was for a number of tackles !!
The second yellow was a challenge which "may" have been a yellow and was perhaps more stupid, having just been booked, than dangerous.

AS he has already been suspended he may get a 2 game ban. Someone can confirm, BUT 5 games !!!!

I do agree that he can be a liability at times, BUT the Management team,that you support should ( must ) be talking to him and let his "football" do the talking on the pitch.

I think that you get a longer suspension if it's your second sending off of the season.

There's no doubt that Jones is a good player, but he picks up too many stupid bookings early on in the game, which means that he either has to tread on eggshells for the rest of the game (not what you need as a centre-mid), or he gets sent off. For a seemingly intelligent bloke, it shouldn't be hard for him to change this aspect of his game, because I agree, he is a real asset when fit and playing well. That said, if he can't change, then I think that it's time to show him the door, as no matter how good a player is, you need to be in control and disciplined. For example, if we'd have gone on to lose that Wingate game, it would have been totally his fault - we won, so the fact that he committed one of the worst and most pointless challenges I've ever seen in my life seems to have been glossed over...

 

On the subject of right backs, I agree that Blower is solid, and has given us some much needed stability but I would say that Riess Noel looked a class act before he got injured, and would be my first pick in that position. Anyway - as with a lot of things, football is all about opinions, and I'm certainly happy to have Blower as part of the squad.

According to the FA web site Jonsie has a 2 match ban from 28th March ( P. Bar and Redbridge games ) BUT this is noted for Cautions, so not sure if the sending off will "top it up".

Before last night Jones had been booked 4 times and sent off once this season. Now, of course it reads 6 and 2....
