Dartford Saturday 21st March 2009

Recommended Posts

Obviously this match will be viewed as a start of a new era but in reality is much more important than that.I believe that it could be the most important match of the season as we can move a step closer to the play offs should we defeat dartford and with horsham on our tails with a game in hand its not going to be easy,If we win we will go ahead of dartford and could even enter the play offs come saturday should others lose.

It won't be the end if we lose or draw but a victory could really give us the push for the rest of the season.

Lets get the Eastside up for this game and try to get a big crowd in for this one as dartford will probably bring 250 plus over to the bridge and we don't want to be outnumbered by away fans.Hopefully the stay away locals will see our recent rise in form and position up the table and turn out in numbers and should we perform on and off the pitch then hopefully they will stay till the end of the season and beyond, bring a mate, bring your granny, bring anyone, lets get the eastside rocking

Even with our good run of recent form, I don't think we'll get a high turn out of home fans. They are just not interested unless a league side fetches up at the Stadium.

I hope that the East Side can hold their own against what is likely to be a noisy away crowd from Dartford. I wonder if they'll still be singing when Janners knocks the winner in?

this is the business end of the season and a lot at stake and it's a 6 pointer, dartford have an excellent away following and thinks this will be our biggest league crowd of the season, just startin to smell the play offs nowcool

I think you could be pleasantly surprised with the turn out saturday.I think we will probably get 700 in the ground and even with 250 dartford fans in there that would mean 450 plus hornchurch fans which hasn't really been seen this season.the fact we are on a bit of form lately combined with people looking at the league table and seeing us in 7th with a game in hand over most and then putting two and two together to see this is an important match with the best supported club in the league may mean quite a few people coming out the woodwork.plus there is the new era factor, some people will just be curious that may have stayed away this year, plus the weather forecast is for a sunny day, perfect recipe for a big crowd

I still can't see it happening. I think the crowd is more likely to be around 500.

It would be fantastic to get over 1000 people in the ground on a sunny day watching a well contested game and seeing the Urchins prevail but most of them would rather watch re-runs of crap like Dancing on Ice or some other dross than support their local team.
