Yeah but it works 3 points for Bookham yay

By the way Guv, your 1st keeper best in the league ?? conceeded 2, one from 35 yards and parried the ball straight to our striker for the second. Bankys played far better than him and made some great saves after replacing him through injury (hope he recovers quickly) Although your defeat was not just down to your guys seeing who could get sent off 1st and being on the refs back all game, we played well and 6 or 7 nil would have been a just score.

Nice to meet you again, Guv1 !

Not sure about the young referee. At one point, I thought he was going to 'lose-it'

I was somewhat surprised at only a verbal warning to one of your players, (no names/numbers - no pack drill), who shouted at the club-house side assistant....

"You're f*ck*ng blind, lino !!!" at the top of his voice.

The referee didn't come into the club-house after the match.

The last to leave the after-match jolly-up was the dug-out side assistant ref., so he muct have enjoyed his day !

To be fair, (and I DID tell Teffers and co.), it was one of the best games I've seen Bookham play, and a certain ageing poster on this forum was awesome, (imho) !

C&H 0v3 Cobham

Good result for our boys on Sat with what turned out to be a comfortable victory and our first, and much needed, 3 points this year!

2 up at half time (should have been 3 but missed a pen just before the h/t whistle). 3 up within a min of restart when awarded another pen and no mistake this time. Their keeper then pulled off 2 excellant saves to keep score down.

Saw the game out well with some good defending that limited them to one shot on target the whole match.

Pleasing win esp with another 2 youth team players (both 16)being drafted in, making the average age 21 (I managed to up that by 2 years on my own from our previous match....I'm getting old haha!!).

Dorking made it 4 wins on the trot on Saturday with a comfortable win at mid table Sheerwater, the win seeing Dorking stay in 4th spot, 5 points clear of 5th placed Knaphill, who lost at leaders Mole Valley SCR, but 5 points off 3rd placed Staines Lammas who occupy the final promotion place, Chicks having the benefit of 2 games in hand over Lammas.

Chicks now face a big few days as on Tuesday night, 17 March, Knaphill visit Meadowbank while on Saturday 21 March Dorking face the first of two remaining games against 2nd spot Hanworth Villa in an away game, before yet another game next Tuesday 24 March, this time against Farnham Town in a hectic run in for Tony Webb's side.

At least Dorking are going into the heavy fixture list in form, the 3-1 win over Sheerwater seeing Dorking take their goal-scoring tally to 14 in the last 4 games, with just 2 goals conceded.

Dorking had gone into this game with the same line up as has started the last 3 games, the only change seeing Dorking stalwart keeper Chris Roberts return between the posts for a guest appearance for the club following a groin injury suffered by regular keeper Dan Coote which had seen Coote rested to recover from the injury. Roberts played most of last season for Chicks, as well as a lengthy spell for Dorking in their Ryman league days some 8 years ago, and played with his usual command and assurance in this game.

Dorking took the lead after only 10 minutes, the on fire Phil Page scoring to ease any Dorking nerves. Page has now scored in every game for Dorking in the last 8 games, notching 13 goals on his golden run, and with Adam Pero and Adie Butler also playing in attack for Chicks, Dorking look really dangerous up front.

Chicks dominated the first half, and indeed the second period, the game being played at a slow pace in the warm spring sunshine as Dorking seemed reluctant to step up a gear, but even while not firing on all cylinders, Dorking were creating plenty of chances

Perhaps the only surprise was that it took Dorking until the 80th minute to extend their lead, that man Page winning and converting a penalty to seemingly make the game safe, the goal being Page's 23rd goal of the season.

Sheerwater had other ideas in an eventful final 10 minutes, and Sheerwater's Dieguez pulled a goal back on 86 minutes, but almost immediately from the restart of the game Adrian Butler made a fine run into the Sheerwater half before being upended in the area. Adam Pero elected to take the spot kick, sending the keeper the wrong way to make it 3-1 and secure all three points for Dorking.

Dorking's Under 18s side play a home game in the Southern Youth Floodlt league at Meadowbank on Wednesday 18 MArch, kick off 7-45pm

Dorking Team:- Chris Roberts, Jesse Davis, Alex Hill, Paul West, Roy Newman ©, James White, Adam Clayton, Phil Page, Adrian Butler, Adam Pero, Victor Donker.

Subs:- Martin Waldren, Andy Briant, Linton Haines, Jones Bamfo, John Kennedy.[/b]
