MFC vs Horsham - LIVE COMMENTARY .......

The ref was very whistle happy today, ruined the game and we certainly go the rough end of it.

That said the it was certainly a foul on the keeper. He punched clear and Pratt's momentum took him into the keeper, nothing to get upset about but a foul non the less. Not sure he needed to spend quite as much time on the floor, but thats the way with players these days.

We've got some massive games coming up. It going to be very difficult but I think we can still get safe.

it was not our best performance, but the ref was an absolute joke. Harwood got booked for a similar 50-50 with the keeper to Kenny's, and Healy got booked for winning the ball in a fair tackle where he didnt even touch the other guy. the only times we got free kicks were when playing the advantage would have been the better option... irrespective of the teams performances, the ref ruined that match

btw i apologise for my hair today. it is a mess and it will be cut in the week...

The ref was REALLY bad today, however we didn't deserve 3 points today.Having said that they didn't deserve 3 points either.Passing of the ball let us down mainly today plus a return to that failure of not having a crack at goal a every opportunity.

Chances were few & far between. We may have had half-a-dozen good efforts & they only had the one shot that I can recall together with the headed goal from a 4ft 2in ex player of ours.We went to sleep on that one. In fact I thought the whole team were half asleep all afternoon to be honest.

Not the performance we have been used to seeing of late & it does look ominous for us now. Those Canvey points are "massive" to us now, especially with other teams around us getting positive results.

Maybe the Ryman are delaying a decision to firstly see if Canvey are doomed to failure of getting into the play offs or in our case staying up before they make a decision. That way it won't matter too much what they decide.

Horsham came to kill the game at every opportunity & it worked for them. Disruption after disruption won them the day.

Finally, back to the ref. Two stoppages in the 1st half for their keeper both totalling 7 minutes on my watch yet only 2 minutes extra were played at the end of that 1st half. He was poor indeed but he wasn't the reason why we missed out today,& missed out on a good opportunity we did.3 points were definately attainable if we were on song today against a very average Horsham side.

We are looking at miracles to survive now I'm sad to say.

Sorry, cannot agree with that re Kenny's "foul". As I understand it from the Rules, it would have been an offence if he was careless, reckless or using excessive force. As both players were going for a 50/50 ball, watching the ball, and I cannot see how Kenny was being any of the three. What is any forward supposed to do - look at the goalkeeper and say "Is it ok with you if I go for the header mate?".

I agree that the referee had to make a decision on the spot but he was definitely wrong in my view. I stand by what I said about the earlier instance this season.
