ETFC v's ETU

Recommended Posts

Can we make it 3 home wins on the spin? ETU are league leaders and currently the 'best' team in our division, so how will we compare to them.

For what it is worth, I think its fair that all after match opinions should be weighed up with some foresight opinions.

Mine is we can still be found wanting in defence with Dave Allen getting away with his match fitness to date and Blower still in settling mode. Maybe we'll defend even better as the back four become a touch more established. We'll see.

Jones and McCoy look formidable. Campana is looking very good, and Edgar is a class act in any case. Ellis has 2 goals in 2 and Healy is like one of those hoodies causing havoc having taken too much illegal teenage sugar.

With Deane and Reiss Noel nearing fitness again we have 2 quality back up players possibly in line for a return/or on the subs bench.

I'm going for a 3-1 Town win.

Apart from one horribly misguided attempt to redeem a poor first touch...

You must have mixed him up with someone else, Jones has been an absolute role model since his return from suspension.

So what did he get his booking for on tuesday then?

Anyway back to today heard we were by far the best team and ETU were given worst penalty decision of the century possibly. Plus 3 games in a row unchanged team. Things are going well at last.

It was'nt an electric game and in fact it was a bit flat, particularly in the first half. I agree with the other postings totally with the penalty decision for ETU. An absolute joke (well it was comic relief). We made things worst for ourselves with very poor defending at a corner. Otherwise ETU created nothing and Walton had little to do in the game.

Healy and Ellis missed gilt edged chances and how Edgars first half deflected shot did'nt creep inside the post i'll never know. We also had a cast iron penalty before ETU's second goal.

Ellis's goal was very opportunistic and Jerky reacted really well to equalise. Our second was not offside as ETU had 1 deep defender keeping everyone onside.

I think we deserved a win and had a touch of luck to bring the scores back level from 0-2 and were unlucky with some of the ref's key decision making.

Role on Tuesday v's Ware.

Just a few things.

In yesterday's programme it says on two occasions that we are at home to Aveley FC next Saturday. I hope not after spending 90 minutes in the stand watching us get beat 7 - 4 just a few months ago.

It appears that there is to be a supporters' meeting very soon. What happened to the EGM?

As for the game yesterday, I thought we did very well to come back into the game although I missed the last ten minutes because I needed to leave 10 minutes early. Fancy us starting 10 minutes late!

Anyone notice how quiet it was yesterday?

Next time you see Gazza, ask him how his trip to watch Histon FC went.
