I am surprised that nobody has commented on this, because, the way I read it the ESL could be consigned to the history books if above sanctions are levied on what is effectively half of the constitution...

If the sanctions suggested are imposed, I can see the remaining eligible clubs joining the Kent League (Possibly renamed The Kent & Essex League).

 

The Kent League will also have clubs that will no longer be eligible for Step 5 under those rules.

The problem being with Kent and Essex is that there is no Step 6 to fall back on. The Essex/Kent thing has been mooted for a while, but nothing has really come of it.

Maybe part of the reason that nothing has come of it is because both leagues had enough clubs, just, to support separacy.

 

That could all change now.

True, but as I have said before, it is all down to how stringent the FA/Leagues are in implementing this. But if they do enforce said plans, a lot of clubs throughout Step 5 are in deep sh!t.

If you think Ware FC is difficult to get to midweek. Try getting to Hythe Town, Deal Town or Herne Bay on a wet Tuesday in January. It can take 40 minutes just to get over the Dartford Crossing!!!

Just re-read the article and maybe, clubs can escape demotion if there is no Step 6? A bit harsh to force teams to by-pass a level that doesn't exist in your local conurbation.. Sorry, getting all technical here, but it does have serious ramifications for the ESL, even though, God willing, we will be out of here....

What are the rules concerning pedestrians using the Dartford Crossing? If they aren't allowed there should be a shuttle bus service each way otherwise what's the point of the DC.

 

Don't answer my second question as the answer is to con motorists out of an illegal fee isn't it.

Another possibility is that the ESL be re-graded as a Step 6 competition.

Slightly of topic but there is a shuttle service for cyclists over the bridge and through the tunnel, nothing for pedestrians, sponsored or otherwise.
