Cracking result tonight.. We must stick with 2 up front as it made such a difference!

Have to say BTFC had no idea how to play decent football all they done was hoof the ball forward they are without doubt one of the worst sides i have seen this season.

We cut them apart with slick flowing football which should have seen us get a few more..

Things got so desperate for BTFC they had to bring on the animal that is Paul Shave!

Well done tonight lads great performance!

In fairness to Billericay, when they did try and play football they looked good.

Both their wingers looked lively and their number 3 had a good range of passing but looked awful defensively.

They put us under a lot of pressure in the last ten minutes but credit to the boys for a battling performance.

i would say for the first 20 minutes and the last 20 minutes Ricey were the better side and it was us that hoofed the ball all the time, when we played it on the floor we toar them apart and played by far the best football of the game, but we kept resorting to hoof every time we were in trouble. fantastic result especially with them on equil points and two games in hand before the game, hopefully we can stay above them in the leauge.

i cant beleve how bad the ref and linesmen were, the ref didnt seem to have a clue for most of the game

The good thing about having Antoine on the pitch is that if we need to get rid of the ball, we do have a decent chance of the ball sticking up top. I like to see us play football, but if the situation means we have to just get rid of the ball, then Antoine is worth his weight in gold.

To be fair the pitch at BTFC was very poor which didn't help either side knock the ball about on the ground.

We scored 4 excellent goals that showed our quality when going forward.

I thought our MOTM was Richard Halle, he was superb at centre half!

It was one of those games where so many played well that it was difficult to give a man of the match. We gave it to Ricky in the end, as although it was a night of great attacking football by Canvey, he seemed to thrive on the pressure of the last 20 minutes and perform superbly.

Chris Moore was a rock at the back, though I wish he would stop these underhit back passes! Halle scored a tremendous goal, and along with Stuart and Tarkan (Player of the Season already...?), they formed a solid defence.

In midfield the wingers were given more space than usual, and the only way that the Ricay defence could cope with Leon G & Gabs was to foul them or concede a corner. Jon Edwards did a lot of the simple things very well, lots of in and out passes to keep the football flowing. Crow anchored the midfield really well, Ricay's most hated breaking down several potential attacks.

Finally, the top two were simply fantastic! Leon Antoine gave us something that we dearly miss when he is not playing - an aerial presence up front. The flick on header that put Jay through for his goal was quality, and the leap for his own goal was immense! As for Jay, he really seems to have found the groove after a run without scoring. At several points during his goal I thought he had lost the ball, but he kept fighting and finished calmly. Also, his work rate in shutting down Tony Tucker's wayward kicks could easily have earned us a fifth goal.

Overall, a great performance by the lads. I always like beating that lot, but this is the first time I can remember in many, many years that we have gone into this fixture as underdogs. A real battling yet stylish display from a team who made me proud to see them in the Canvey shirt.

Bring on Hastings!

Certainly a performance to be proud of. Every player in a Canvey shirt had a great game.

Rich Halle was outstanding at the back. Both Leon Antoine and Jay didn't stop running and caused the ricay defence so many problems.

Still can't get over how good Ricky's save was near the end. Don't know how the hell he kept that one out!!!!

We rattled him the moment we mentioned him not staying on his line for Ruggy's penalty in the play off final.

I expect that moment still haunts him!!!!
