Or just not have any pre-conceived ideas, try to speak the language, and join in with the matchday waving of scarves, banners, etc, itself rather than be a spectator of it (the chants are a bit too much for me other than "Roma, Roma, Roma" or "Nerazzurri ba$tardos!").

 

They're especially socialable and hospitable when I take Chipper, it seems to be a national trait that they adore children in a non-Michael Jackson way.

Now as you all know I'm the sought of person who likes to shy' away from controversy. But....

 

I was having a conversation with my father-in-law a few weeks back, at the time of the dullbridge fiasco as it happens, which is why I did not want to go to print at the time.

 

He told me something quite startling. The snippet of information he gave me was, how can i put this delicately. Italians like to make love to chickens! And not only that but as they get near the point of completion they chop their heads off so their sphincter muscles contract adding to the pleasure! Now my Father-in-law is in his mid 70's so I put this down to an age thing, but last night after yesterday's evening match I was thinking about this statement that he had made so I thought I would google it and see what turned up. And to my surprise it was true... probably!

 

It turns out that they are all at it. They even have a national holiday to celebrate it and have a giant chicken risotto afterwards. Historians have put down this obsessions with chickens to the fall of the Roman Empire and the spread of the bubonic plague in medieval Europe.

 

One of the worlds famous italian chicken fanciers was Giani Bertorelli who changed his name to Colonel Sanders when he emigrated to the U.S.A. I don't have to go into details what is part of the Colonels secret recipe. And what ever you do don't get me started on Chicken Kiev!!!!!
