Jubilee Fun Day - Highfield Park June 15th

According to my free paper tonight, St Albans City Football Club players will show off their skills in true World Cup spirit (their words, not mine) at the village green event this Saturday, culminating in a breathtaking firework finale (oo err!). Admission is free and the fun kicks off at 3pm and lasts until 10.30pm. Sounds like a good way to work off the beer after the big match!

Just to recap the directions:

 

Coming from city centre:

 

Come straight down London Road. Pass the Grillbar on your right. Go straight on. Come to a set of traffic lights. Go straight on. Francis Bacon playing fields should be on the left. At the roundabout turn left. Take the second exit at the next roundabout, heading straight on. Follow the road around and Highfield Park is on your right after 1 mile. Opposite Starlight Way.

 

From Sandpit Lane. Turn onto Beechwood Avenue (opposite Marshalswick Lane). You'll come to two roundabouts. Go straight over the first, and turn left at the second roundabout, effectively taking the second exit. This is Ashley Road. Continue straight on past the Vauxhall dealership until you come to two roundabouts. At the second roundabout turn left (left) on to Camp Road. Turn right at the roundabout, and turn left at the next. Highfield Park is 100yds on the left.

 

From the Crown.

 

Go straight down Camp Road, all the way to Ashley Road. Cross over the roundabout, continuing down Camp Road. Turn right then left. Highfield Park is 100yds on the left.
