All sporting fixtures start with the thought and words ..May the best team win... on this night Margate was the best team.

 

The fair and sporting decision is a win for Margate at the score when the match was ended.

 

Simple no need to complicate with what if's.On this night the opponents were never going to do anything but lose.

 

Any other outcome would bring the game into disrepute imo, the Ryman board would also be mindful of the adverse effect of an unfair decision in the eyes of sponsors and advertisers who are especially careful in not wanting be involved with controversy, tho they might not say as much.

It should not matter if Canvey are in the play offs or not. Should they have said the same against AFC Wimbledon.

As I stated last week, why the lack of progress? We now have four teams waiting for either a points reduction or replay, three of those teams are heavily involved in the relegation battle. Are the league going to tell us going into the last match of the season?

Our situation surely has to be sorted out by Saturday because that is when Dan Young's suspension (for the red card at Canvey) is supposed to start.

The clubs get to agree on the rules each summer so if they are unhappy it's up to them to get them changed.
