Wealdstone V BTFC Scores

Recommended Posts

A great comeback by the lads in the second half last night in driving rain and an increasingly waterlogged pitch. You could see the confidence return once that equaliser went in. It was also pleasing to see good team celebrations for both goals and the final whistle, showing a good spirit within the team.

I thought the two under 18s (Jack & Luca) also did well - jumping for headers and not afraid to get stuck in.

If ever there was an ideal situation for a Daz advert, then last night was it. Will our white kits ever be white again?

Roll on Saturday!

Good football, Good spirit, Good work rate, Good result.

When we went behind we didn't panic, we kept working hard, continued to pass the Ball and remained positive.

There were a lot of good performances out there, but that has to be the norm not the exception.

Dormer was outstanding as a captain last night, he encouraged, demanded, b***ocked and drove the team on all night. Wayne had a great game as did Dave Wareham, Dave was being marshalled well by the Left back and their No 7 early on but he never gave up, and as the game wore on they wore out, Dave was victorious in that 2 on 1 battle.

In awful conditions we remained determined and focused to the end.

Didn't young Luca do well, at 17 he's already a handfull

well Done all. applause applause

Sorry forgot to mention. Fantastic support by us last night on a wet & Windy Tuesday night. Well done lads & lasses

All the reports & comments above are very encouraging. Especially the indication that the team have re-found that fighting spirit. More of the same Saturday & things will look a lot better.

I don't normally bother posting when I'm about so long after the event but this was a great three points for us.

I thought we started well but the goal (which I'm sure we'll feel we could have defended better) seemed to galvanize Wealdstone into life.

Second half was all about us. Tremendous work rate all over the pitch and a quality strike from Dorms. For me the second goal was a "good" goal. Wayne may have been offside but he never played it and BWG came from behind him to stick it in. (fnarr)

A fine all round effort from us tonight, my MoTM just goes to Wareham, one of the best efforts I've seen from him since his return.

Unfortunately the injuries do seem to be picking up again but as TC mentioned young Luca certainly wasn't averse to putting himself about a bit.

Hopefully we'll be able to put in more of the same on Saturday.

Mud, what mud?
