Great result! A win at last, and away from home on a wet Tuesday night.

Ouch!

Surfing around the forums, opinion seems to be that the result will probably stand.

We battled hard in difficult conditions. Well done to the lads. And for those that called for Frankis and West to come on got their wish.

A good three points (well, any three points are good). I thought there may have been a bit of off side in Bradley's goal but the linesman couldn't call it as he had slipped over and was eating mud at the time the ball was hitting the net!!! Who said we never get the luck

No one likes to see that happen.

I hope the Margate score stands, maybe Canvey turned off the lights on purpose tongue.

Anyways to our game, I thought it was a well deserved win. We showed commitment, determination and gave everything right to the end. We played as a team, and the whole team played very well. Always good to get 3 points, especially away from home.

Both teams adapated well to what was very wet and windy conditions. There was some dodgey defending which led to their goal, but we showed the determination and fight to come back.

Well done lads, hopefully the same determination and fight can be shown on Saturday.

Horrendous conditions which made passing football nigh on impossible (the drive home was pretty unpleasant as well!), but we kept going and the chances came. Credit where it's due, the tactics were spot on - we kept playing it wide then when the crosses came we made sure we had people in the box to get on the end of it (Wayne did well in this regard).

I'm not going to mention the P-O word, or the R word except to say that it's important that we build on this result - we've had more than a few "false dawns" performance-wise this season.

Quite probably. League rule 8.3 states:
"All matches shall be of 90 minutes duration. Any match not complying may be ordered to stand as a completed match... as the board shall decide".

The conditions were horrible but it was amazing as to how much "football" was played. Credit must go to both teams as they still tried to pass the ball around, even though the puddles sometimes "caught" the ball and stopped it following through to the players.

I would also like to praise the support. To watch any game in those conditions takes a certain amount of "masochism" (for want of a better word) and even though I can't comment on the "home" support, our support got behind the team. Any "voices" of discontent were good natured and humorous and I for one enjoyed the evening.

I think a well done and praise should not only go to the team and the management for last night but also to the supporters.

Also a mention about the ground. I remember going to that ground a few seasons ago and I must say, I enjoyed my visits there in the past, when we played the "Manor". It certainly ain't no Dartford but it is a nice ground with friendly people.

Nothing like a win to promote the feeling of "good will to all men". It shouldn't be like that as we all support our respective clubs and all go to enjoy the experienece. It's been hard this season but we mustn't lose sight that it's only a game and one we should enjoy. Going off subject, the present financial "climate" effects every club and there is only so much any individual club can do to at least keep running at the very least, let alone sate the thirst for success. Any future success for any club has to be down to how the club is structured, hard work and effort and the pulling together of the available resouces and everyone involved at the club from supporters upwards.

Now...I'm off to correct the dosage of my "happy" pills.

I thought last night that the team showed that they do have the appetite for a fight which many fans felt that the team was lacking. As a unit we tackled hard and closed down on most occasions and more impressively tried to play football in what were dreadful conditions.

I thought Wayne thrived on the conditions and was dogged in midfield. He was everywhere when they had the ball, sliding in from 20 yards away and winning the ball!!! He also put a lot of effort by making runs forward to split their defence.

Wareham looked like a man posessesed and ran himself ragged charging forward with the ball and tackling back when needed.

Bradley turned up tonight and looked like the player we all know he can be and in better conditions could have had a hatrick.

Across the board the team put in an immense performance in awful conditions and we fully deserved the result.

Also a mention to the great showing of fans who defied the weather and previous performances to get behind the team in numbers.

I must admit at half time I thought it was going to be the same story as recent games - plenty of possession but no end result.

But the second half performance in particular, in atrocious conditions was a huge improvement on recent displays. A great strike for the first goal imo really gave the team a boost and the three points were fully deserved.

This needs to be the start of a decent run now - another maximum haul on Saturday please!
