Updates from Leyton

For all those who decided to stay at home, then congratulations on making the correct decision.

The weather was poor and the game even worse.

As far as I am concerned, it could have been 7 or 8 nil.

Poor defence

Poor attitude

Poor approach play

No ideas

No clue as to how to play in the terrible conditions.

It's time to go.

I just wonder how many are going to turn up on Saturday against Witham? And I don't mean the supporters!

My first game since October and i only recognised Rudi, Andy Jones & Ellis, which says it all with the amount of changes that have taken place.

First half no shots at goal, no passes reached a town player, only one decent tackle that was from jonah (yes jonah timed a tackle lol)

Second half for some strange reason Rudi played right wing and was taken off halfway through. One header on about 80 mins that went just wide and a shot from 20 yards that skipped off the turf and hit the keeper in the face.

From what i saw tonight there is no passion, no commitment, players not knowing eachother, we could not string 2 passes together all night. The defence didn't know how to mark, didn't know how to cover spaces behind, could not keep a solid line. Not a single player challenged for a high ball from a goal kick or a long high ball, instead just let the ball bounce or give them a free header.

Finally there was no encouragement from the bench, there was no leader on the pitch it is all very quiet from every angle in the town set up.

Looking at Leyton tonight, we could do with there No.5 who not only was soild, new how to defend, keep the defensive line and shouted all game encouraging, motivating and telling players where to be etc

One goal in last 5 games is not good enough, still i'm sure when i make my next appearence at a town game i'll have to try and learn 8/9 other new faces!!

I think we can slag of the management as much as we like however that will not improve the situation.

Let us look dispassionately at the game last night. Most of what has been written is quite correct except for one thing.

Medders there was a MOM last night and credit should be given where it is deserved.

Andy Jone played head and shoulders above everyone else in the squad. If you want to see a player proud to wear a Town Shirt it has to be him. If he can control the red mist he should be skipper however I do understand the problems with his work commitments.

Last Tuesday only 84 watched the town at Witham which says a lot for the support flooding away. That by the way was the lowest gate to watch ETFC in a league game....

Last night's attendence was 70....

All share holders have the right to voice their disappointment with the current management set up and want answers as to why we are so poor in a league which is not a patch on those previously played in.

If it's broke, then it needs fixing.

Steph I have stated several times that Jonah has the talent & should be a permanent fixture of the team, maybe giving him skipper would have a positive effect on his temprement & attitude, a point to consider maybe.
However he has let us down several times in the past so maybe its the last chance saloon for him.

Not sure there were even 70 there, however Town support was at least 70% of those that did attend.
Does not say a lot for Leyton.
