Harlow docked 3 points ?????

Recommended Posts

According to the Harlow herald website Harlow have been docked 3 points for fielding an inelligable player in their win over Wealdstone . This player (who is not named) signed for Harlow very recently about the same time Ricci Crace left us.Apparently some c0ck up over the paper work from the club he left is to blame . Does this mean we get a fine if this is the case , I do have a concern that Ricci is the player Involved .

Anybody know anything ? Sponsor of Beer Whats occurring ?

Harlow Town FC deducted three points by the Ryman League

12:29 - 27 February 2009

FOLLOWING an appeal hearing yesterday (Thursday) lunchtime, Harlow Town FC have been deducted three points for allegedly fielding an ineligible player in the recent victory over Wealdstone.

The club was led to believe by an official source that every player who featured in the 2-1 win over Wealdstone on Saturday February 14 was eligible to play, and no indication to suggest otherwise was received from the Isthmian (Ryman) League.

However, it transpired that one player who was involved in the game had not been correctly released from his previous club, through no fault of anybody at Harlow Town FC.

The relevant forms indicated he had been released before the Wealdstone game, but his previous club failed to notify the Isthmian League until two days after the fixture, rendering him, in the eyes of the league officials, ineligible to play in the match in question.

An Isthmian League panel found the Hawks guilty in part of the process of registering a player at a hearing on Thursday, and deducted the points gained from the Wealdstone match in accordance with league rules.

Harlow Town chairman Simon Morgan has pledged to appeal to the Football Association. He said: "We are awaiting the league's decision to formally arrive and we will then start the process of an appeal with the Football Association.

"Until the outcome of the appeal we will not be deducted the points."

Mr Morgan went on to explain: "The process of registering the player in question was carried out in the correct way by our club, and I am confident that we have a strong case to appeal.

"Glen Alzapiedi has made all the playing staff aware of the situation and, while we await news of our appeal with the FA, everybody is committed to keeping our club in the Ryman Premier Division, something I have no doubt we will achieve.

I see that it was also Danny Wolf's first game for Harlow that day. I imagine that the onus is on the receiving club (ie Harlow) to satisfy itself that all of the paperwork is complete. That's how it works in the Capital League.

More likely to lose some good will with another club and perhaps they might not be so keen on a pre-season friendly in the summer.

Now just Hendon to upset and I will be a lot happier! excited

One of your best load of cr*p you've produced to date, AW.

A quick phone call to the Ryman League and/or the FA was all that was required of Harlow. It's called 'the process to ensure that any new signing is eligible'.

As any one who knows the rules would know!

with so many players being signed and released its hardly supprising that some pieces of bureaucracy went astray, it was probably page umpteen of the new signings and release fax going to the league, when the fax ran out of paper.

harlow should be allowed to keep their 3 points, and a full lessons learned thread should be initiated by the townies.
