Tonights game

Right 2 questions, what will the score be tonight and also who do you think the team should be?

I think we will lose 3-0 as bateman wont know his team as of yet and will hopefully experiment so that on saturday when we have a winnable game we can.

As for tonights team i would personally pick:

Jacko

Harper

Evans (fitness permitting)

Allaway

Mcconigley (gaelic football permitting)

Bubb

Sonny

Fermie

Tom

Platty

Yash

think we could do with tom and bubb, both fast down the wings to get balls in the box and yash and platty to be the targets. sonny in the middle as i think i heard brown is on holiday.

not sure when he is going but Brown is going to Australia for the rest of the season sometime this week

score depends on whether the players are happy or annoyed that Sweetman has gone really. if they are really up for impressing the new manager then we may well see a great performance and we know we can match any team on our day. there is no point getting on the new boss back if we do lose though as he has had no time to change a thing

Rory Smith can replace Evans if he isn't fit. tbh i thought Rory Smith was maybe best player for us against Uxbridge.

Fenton and Fermie being out at the weekend is a big problem and so they should be used when they can be. should Mcconigley be available he is another option in midfield as well as left back.

i have a feeling we may see something a bit unexpected formation or starting lineup wise using the players we already have

Guys we are both in the same position regarding new managers not knowing the players lets just enjoy the night who ever wins(well hopefully us by the odd goal).

Whats the weather like where you are as heavy rains hit us midday and are continuing if we were playing at home would be doubtful

Firstly, I was told the Uxbridge game was the last we will see of Laurence Brown.

Secondly, you seem to have chosen Mconigley, who seems to prefer Gaelic football over playing for Slough Town, over Ryan Fenton who I think has been one of our better players this season.

No DJ?

Also, apparently, Bateman was at the Uxbridge game so he would have seen all the players except Platt and I would know what positions they play etc.

So my main concern is will the players will be in the right frame of mind?

Ok firstly i think rate mccolnigley higher than fenton and wouldnt put him into the centre when allaway and evans are available. The gaelic football thing is his own business, but he doesnt under perform for us generally so id play him.

DJ is in the same catagory as sweetman, nice bloke but at the moment has no confidence and couldnt hit a barn door.

Yes bateman was at the uxbridge game but he needs to play them his way and experiment like that.

if the players dont want to impress tonighgt then they will prob leave anyway so bateman can act accordingly.

Whats with picking Tom? he just can't cut it at this level. Anyone would think you're his best mate or want to have his babies.

I think Tom is a good player,i might be wrong but hasnt he mostly been a sub rather than being on the pitch at the start.

Sonny has had a lot of games under his belt and has become established. Maybe Tom should have the same chance.

I agree re Tom. How can people say he's not good enough when he's barely been tried?! People may then say there's a reason he's not been picked but that'll be those same people that suggested that Derek didn't know what he was doing.

He attacks the full backs and can go past people and we've been crying out for that. Maybe time will prove he can't hack it at this level but I'm not sure he's been given much of an opportunity to prove it either way yet.

I personally prefer Fenton over Maconigley but thats only my opinion. Also Maconigley hasn't played since before xmas and if he is supposed to be injured (got my doubts) would he be fit?

I don't think Bateman will experiment too much in his first game. At the most he might play a different formation, maybe be a bit cautious and play 4 across the middle to stop us leaking goals. I definately don't think he will play 3 up front so 1 of the 3 strikers will be probably be on the bench.
