Truro Away: A Word Of Warning

Windsor Rebel

Recommended Posts

When we went down there back in January they had four local village idiots causing a few issues, (i.e racist abuse at our black players and general abuse at our fans). I was talking to one of their stewards and apparently they only turn up for the big games or when they expect a few away fans. It didnt get to fisticuffs (lucky for them), but general nastiness. You will recognise them: they are four middle aged skinheads who look like

they should be in Life On Mars. Be warned!

As the Queen's head beekeeper of some 30 years standing,I have learnt much about these docile but occasionally violently insane creatures.

One of the most important lessons I have learnt is that an angry bee will be becalmed if you pump a load of smoke on it.

I have it on good authority that the same is true of cockerneys. So I will be bringing my smoke machine to Truro.

If a cockerney should become agressive then I shall simply pump some smoke on him.He will quickly become docile, and I will move to a position of safety.

May I suggest other Windsor fans purchase this valuable piece of equipment?

It may one day save your life!

I know nothing about beekeeping, but I think they must use special smoke with added insecticide,or something.

I think SiD pumping his pipe on an angry cockerneys face would only serve to inflame an already volatile situation!

a Totton fans view

We huffed and puffed but couldn't blow your house down, defensively you were solid! As for us we will now have to go on a run untill the end of the season or we will have to settle for the play offs. Your fans were brilliant and do your fantastic club credit. It was great to see a few of the faces from when we were down there. I don't like losing, especially a big top of the table clash but the fact we lost to a nice club with nice people makes it a little easier to swallow!

and when they visited Truro

The guy with the drum is John Stevens, he is a smashing character, he sometimes goes to games with large blue glasses and a bright blue wig! I nearly wet myself laughing when i saw him with it before we left, especially when he revealed he had two wooden spoons to bang it with!!! You lot are a great bunch btw, i enjoyed the banter in the club afterwards, the journey home was a good giggle but gradually one by one most people fell asleep. By the time we got to Dorset about half the coach was snoring, Some were still chatting and a few were trying to sing but they were so shitfaced we couldn't fathom out what it was that they were singing! We arrived back in Totton at about 3.40 am after a half hour stop in Exeter.

as for Whitehawk, they had known Brighton hooligans at the game, had caused trouble in the previous round, and there were allegations of drug taking in the toilets and many drinking during the 2nd half, the crowd was swelled at half time presumably by Whitehawk fans(sic) not wanting to pay but looking for a bit trouble. You can see how pleased they are with themselves on youtube.

But why let some of the truth get in the way of slagging off Truro

also the 3rd choice goalkeeper on

Kern-you can obviously read, but there seems to be a problem with the connection between your eyes and your brain.

The Slough fans who travelled down to Truro have indicated that the FOUR troublemakers spoke with LONDON accents,in other words they are not indigenous Cornish.

Now, can you please repeat that back to yourself until you understand it fully.

This was the experience of the SLOUGH fans that travelled,so you're really on the wrong forum,me old mate!

However,my own experience of the Truro fans who travelled to Windsor was that there were quite a few who spoke with London accents.

Oh,and by the way,I am jealous of you!

I am really, really,REALLY jealous of you!!

Kern, Truro City have a certain reputation for being a bit arrogant. Your not doing much to help this reputation.

Kern, Slough Town are 'The Rebels' and that particular poster lives in Windsor hence Windsor Rebel!

You're right, 77 last night was pretty poor even by our standards but it was the replay of a match that was abandoned at half time a few weeks back and the league ordered it to be played on cup tie terms ie sharing the gate, so we had to charge full price whereas we were going to do a half price offer to thank those that turned up for the original game. I know that a number of people didn't turn up on principle knowing they would be charged the full price again!

Also you need to bear in mind that you have very little in the way of competitors in senior non-league football [or professional football] where you are. In our division alone you have Windsor, Slough, Burnham, Bracknell, Beaconsfield, Uxbridge & AFC Hayes all within spitting distance of each other and then you have a number of Ryman, Conference, and Conference South clubs close by followed by Wycombe, Reading, Brentford, QPR, Fulham, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham, Crystal Palace etc, etc, all within an hours journey so you can see people are spoilt for choice as to where to watch football. Your nearest competition would be Plymouth, Torquay, Exeter or Tiverton Town which I'm guessing wouldn't be that much of an enticement for someone in the Truro area.

Anyway, there are a number of people making the very awkward midweek trip next week to see what should be an entertaining game, let's hope thre's no very late postponement this time!
