Well it had to come and not before time.There's one man thing about being a footballer at any level, if you don't respect the management and believe in their way of doing things then you are dead in the water before you start, and that seems to have been the case here.The players I expect found out what I was always saying, that Sweetman and Roberts had no knowledge of managing SUCCESS at this or a higher level,and in the end were found out.I am pretty pleased with the appointment of Steve because he has had some success at playing and managing at a better level than that which we now occupy.He was a fairly useful centre back,but not to be confused with the truely great Jeff Bateman who played for Slough a few years earlier.

Ah Staines Rebel et al-you don't have to act like men and say sorry for your insults-I just knew you didn't know enough about the game to understand.

have to be honest and say fair play you called it but it i think the fans wanted to support the team as of course no one wants to believe or admit the team would not succeed before the team or management have had a chance to prove once and for all

Heh clueless! you have no idea what you're talking about - Derek was one of the most respected Footballers & is one of the most respected managers in non-league football you only have to ask the players and fellow managers that, plus your're forgeting that a good percentage of the current team only came to Slough because of Derek - it certainly wasn't to play for stupid 'no nothing' fans like you!.

Its not the time surely to pat yourself on the back.The truth is no one knew whether Derek would succed or not, but wouldnt it have been better to have given some encouragement instead of the constant sniping and attacking of everything sweetman.

Wouldnt it have been better to have wanted them to succeed and bring us promotion. At least Derek showed dignity in everything he did at the club.

Hey you must be a relative or boyfriend to come up with rubbish like that-they came to Slough for at least 2 reasons-no other club wanted them - or the so called money.Hopefully if sweets" finds a new club on sunday mornings-you can go watch them-everyone to their own level-I say.

Actually I have been supporting Slough many many more years than you, an as I have mentioned before if you pay to watch you are entitled to comment.Sweetman and friends may have fooled you and others, but I have said since pre season he ain't got it.So I was right and I don't see anyone up in arms at his going do you.
