Ramsgate have been reinstated in The Isthmian Cup QF, due to Tilbury playing an illegiable player.what made me laugh is on the same day they Got The Team of The Month for beating Ramsgate.

So the Cup Holders Live to fight another day.

Oh dear,another club breaking the rules eh? Intentional or not intentional they have been penalised it seems.I take it an appeal wasn't launched or maybe they realise they were at fault & appealing would be a waste of time ...& money.This might not work in your favour Ian come your appeal date.

It certainly can't help your bid for staying up i.m.o. but its only one extra game I suppose so probably won't make too much difference. Good luck anyway.

You win some you lose some but after this decision I can't see you getting a favourable result at your appeal now (though of course its the FA who will decide & not the Ryman) so I suppose you DO have a chance.

Maybe your luck HAS turned.You'll know for sure on the 16th.I'd say that was more important at this stage in the season than being re-instated in the cup for one game.If I'm not busy I might pop over to witness your exit.

Well i feel sorry for Tilbury as they thoroughly deserved to beat us so this decision feels a bit hollow for me. Especially so as i think you're right Cookie, it's taking our eye off the main prize here which is staying in the Ryman Prem.

 

Not sure of your logic concerning the effect this decision will have on our appeal though.

My point is that if they are penalised for breaking the rules whether it be intentional or not then the FA might take this into account at your appeal.Of course it might not even enter into their heads on the other hand in which case your appeal has more of a chance of succeeding.

There's no getting away with the fact that you signed your player correctly according to a rule but they might think you intentionally did this in hindsight to avoid a points deduction.(I'm not saying that was the case).

At the time you DID field too many players & at the time WERE breaking the rules.Together with that your failed appeal to the Ryman will also be taken into account I would have thought.They must have done their homework before dismissing your appeal.If they didn't then they are bigger idiots than some might think they already are.

Its going to be touch & go for you I reckon & it could go either way.

These are just my personal inner,now outer thoughts on this.However I've been wrong countless times on other things so at least you have that going for you.

It seems that hardly a day goes by now without some team being docked points or being in financial difficulties. I don't recall this happening so much even just a few years ago, unless of course in those days we never heard so much about it.

 

Frankly I think that running a football team nowadays is getting even more of a thankless task.

I totally agree its got to be a pain for Ramsgate to get the game sorted at short notice aswell. It beagars belief that a simple thing as players being cup tied was over looked in the first place.
