Just wondering when the IRA tried to blow up out historic city and infact just killed them selves did it get on the fron tpage of all the national pages with St Albans being in big Font just wondering

 

Oh and does anyone remeber the dat or what they where doing when it happened .

 

I just about remeber watching tv an my mum telling me

I remember it, I was out in London Colney though, not town - Good job too they shut all the pubs.

 

It was on the front page of every paper as far as I can remember!

Early 1990's. it was planted outside Barclays bank and aimed to blow up Alban Arena because the Queen's guards were playing their brass band there.

They also tried to blow up the train line, but just managed to blow a bit of track away which ended up in the garage of some copper!

 

They were pretty rubbish in St.Albans, hope Al Quiada don't look at us as a challenge due to previous terror failings to gain the upper hand!
