Canterbury friendly

I reckon maybe a few first team players as well.

The trouble with our early cup exits is that there have been no games in which to play 'fringe' players and as importantly for this friendly, try out new systems and players in slightly different roles since november.

a lot of our fringe players have had reguler run outs with the reserves. the guys are being given games in this set up unlike the last when they sat on the bench regardles.

From wellsies interview with him, sounds as though TY is' well up ' for this friendly on tuesday night - Haverson making his debut, Morris gets a run out (maybe corbishley ? )

I wonder if there may be a triallist or two aswell?

I guess, a chance to try out a new defensive line up defence in the forthcoming abscence of Young and Harwood.

seems the friendly is well timed

I also hope Treadwell gets a chance to see if he can impress.

Apparently there was one in the area around the programme hut. Must admit I didn't see it myself or one being taken around the ground. So maybe a bucket for red nose day a good idea for this evening.

i read that mention is made of a fine canterbury goal in another thread;but for avoidance of doubt-from the canterbury site; it seems final score was 1-0 to canterbury.

Did any one go who would be prepared to kindly post a few thoughts on the game and line up ?- and more importantly-did anyone particularly impress?

In the meantime here's the majority of the starting line-up - SCS, Morris, Ohakam, Haverson, Lacy, Taylor, Bailey and Cliff. Lacy went off injured in the first half and Beresford and Quain were two of the half time subs. Rest of the players involved were reserves I assume - certainly didn't see any obvious older trialists.

Game of very few chances by either side can only remember one save by the Canterbury keeper and none by ours. Gate had lots of possession but no cutting edge, was impressed by the number 9 for us not sure of his name and the 6 at the back, good to see Terry positioned at various parts of the ground obviously looking at players, positioning etc. About 80 or so in attendance not bad for a mid season friendly.
