I think Dorkings performance was discussed in detail after the game.

To be honest, we played with three good strikers up front who failed to find the net due to the skills of the Coulson keeper. Then in the 2nd. half when we scored three in around 6 or 7 minutes, it was all over.

Hmmm ! Are they finding the pressure a bit hard now ?

 

As stated earlier on this thread, DFC, Knaphill, MVSCR and Villa all have a busy run-in to come. The coming weeks are going to be very interesting !

Barney Rubble..I hope respect this view..Unfortunately Ihave to agree..Too many silly fkicks around the box, bad timed tackles and turning his back on headers. Also something I have not seen before, kicking out at players after incidents..I love the lad,but in football you have to take bad press aswell as good press, but when you are at the top everything is magnified..If mr Henry had put 3 of his 6 chances away and we had scored the pen would we be talking about him..I doubt it. I feel The manager has several hard choices at the moment and will make them as he has never shirked decisions...

Possibly could have changed it a bit earlier yesterday..but hey..he has taken us 5 points clear at the top so who am I to judge.. Barney..It's opinion and some people love marmite and some don't

He needs to step into midfield or be given more information from behind and he'll do what you tell him. I honestly think Full Back is the hardest job in a 4-3-3.

Needs to concentrate on the easy things instead of being too clever. Not turn his back on headers. And take his turn riding the pine cos he isn't performing at the minute.

Well thats your opinion. he's not been at his best recently, possibly because playing out of position but he's been one of out best defenders which is why he's stayed in. You don't go from one of the best players in the league to rubish over night. He's suspended soon so this is a needless argument.

 

If I had to pick 1 player from the whole league to play with to win a football match I'd choose him every time.

Not fair on the lad to be discussed on here like this guys, although I do agree with Barney about his best position. Players are as good as their last match, a 3-1 win and good performance against Cove in this case.

Chertsey will catch them all they have to do is get within 3 points of the last day then we will beat them simple as that...lol

Ok Keegan..Mind game times now...Barney I would like to add that although I stand by what I have said,,Others actions have lead to some of RBacks challenges.. And again I will say if we only let 1 in per game for the rest of the season we should win so a kick up the backside for our strikers including yesterday. I too think he is a match winner and sometimes feel with his pace,talking and all round fitness may find a slot as sweeper....

As for all else every other club in the league would like to be where we are right now..

With Mole Valley dropping points at Sheerwater, many thanks guys, the title is very much in Knaphill's hands. Although we do have a tough couple of weeks coming up with away trips to Hanworth Villa, Mole Valley and Dorking all within a week. Make or break time!

Guildford City 0 - 0 Cove

 

A game of two halves, Cove bossing the first but City on top in the second.

A valuable cleansheet and point, with some very positive attacking for the first time in months! Including a spell of pressure that had JohnnoJudo looking very worried as he tried to boss his minions...

 

As for anyone who thinks the players can't hear you from the stands... just ask the Cove keeper, when he's calmed down a bit.

 

We're Guildford City, and we're not out of it yet ladies and gents.

Firstly, I'm not an idiot and certainly don't have a vested interest.

Secondly, you just confirmed he is not playing on form at the moment, which is why he should be rested. No one should be guaranteed a starting spot. It is obvious to see his potential, not sure I'd agree he is one of the best in the league, but he is certainly capable of holding down a first team spot, just not on the form he is currently on.

I haven't watched every game, so I am basing it on the 4 or 5 I have seen. If he is previously some kind of legendary player, that makes it all the better, and all the more reason to rest him. Maybe the suspension will do him good. Here's hoping.

Thirdly, I have nothing against him or any other player in the league, but yesterday, comparing the 2 right backs, the Banstead boy was a mile clear.

Agree with your comments re: the match sweeney.

 

Heard you from the stands singing once or twice but its really only when the wind blows across the pitch that we can hear you.

1 or 2 of you students need to change your aftershave by the way!

 

Cove have hit rock bottom form. It happens, and you just hope that when it does happen you can still pick up away points here and there. Our main striker had just come back from injury but an off the ball challenge/incident put paid to his comeback and has now fractured his ankle!

 

Guildford played well in patches. Big man upfront was excellent. Glad we have to only play there once a season. No physio table, only 2 showers that worked and a porta cabin for a clubhouse. How is that allowed in step 5 football i'll never know.

 

Pitch was actually pretty good for once.

 

My old team (Ash) Tuesday at home. Big local derby!
