Cinderford 1 - WEFC 5

Sounds like the lucky few who were free to go saw a fine game.

Only details I have are the goals... Cinderford opened for us with an own goal after 7 minutes, equalised on 30: then Seeds got a penalty before half-time. Second half Willo scored in the 75th minute, Ben a minute later and Wallace got our 5th on near the final whistle.

Truro also won, so we're still 3 points clear of them with a game in hand: Totton drew, so they've played 3 games more than us and trail by 5 points.

The Scoreline flatters us and in another season we'd of drawn or lost that. They have to be the dirtest team i have seen and quite frankly it's amazing none of them got sent off. Slough beware! The 'penalty' WAS weak but another ref wouldnt of given that but sent off their players so they shouldn't moan too much. A win was a fair result but their heads dropped once we got the 3rd.

Comment of the day was from a unhappy Cinderford fan " London teams always get everything"

I'm off to enjoy Jellied eels for my dinner! Come on Windsor!

It's always good to get back home to the London Borough of Berkshire.

Not sure how we somehow won 5-1. We dominated the game in the first 15 mins and the last 15 mins. The rest of the game Cinderford looked to have the upper hand. I suppose that's why we're top of the league. We don't ship in too many goals and we look like scoring every time we attack.

Some of our goals were a bit fortunate but the 4th goal was sheer class, without doubt the best move of the match. The highlight of the match has to be Cooper having a row with their no7 moments before he shinned the ball into his own net, (to be fair there wasn

Surely the highlight of the game was Windsor's third goal.

A storming run down the wing from Steve Rowlands,a fantastic cross,Dot Whale flicks it on to Malcolm, who buries it in the bottom corner.

Mickey Betteridge in the Windsor goal can't hide his delight, and is shown a yellow card for running the length of the pitch with his shirt over his face.

A pleasent day out with some fantastic views on the drive down and a pub lunch which i'll be talking about in dawson style enthusiasm for a good few days. I mean what pub do you know with a dinosaur and a horse in it's gardens!? And if dazza is reading this the 80's were CRAP for music on the whole not just because of Aussie Soap stars!!!

As for the game Coopers reaction was rather funny! All credit to their keeper too as he was loving the banter!

However that is the only credit i am going to give to their team. I'm still wondering how they had 11 men on the pitch at full time ( and how we won 5-1!) Fuzzy Royal was at their game against Totton and one of Tottons players was still on crutches when they played us a few weeks ago. One of the Cinderford fans made a comment about some bad langauge from one of our players when he was kicked and a mark was left half way up his thigh. As i said at the time i think the thuggish behavoiur of most the cinderford side was worse and it wasnt just the 'big lumps' no wonder the crowd was so low as how can you enjoy watching that week in and week out.

Before the game i knew this would be a massive test and at times we had to dig deep but Rob didnt have to make too many saves. To not play at our best and get 5 against a play off chasing side is proof of the quality we have.

The next month and a bit if we avoid defeat. The 7th of March is a key date as we play Thatcham whilst Truro play at SYCOB. It's so important we win the next two league games as i can see Truro dropping points on the 7th.

Rob, our "Dodgy keeper!!" as was sung every time he made a save, caught the ball, passed it to a Windsor player (not sure they quite got the hang of when to sing it really)was clearly the better of the two keepers. Letting Willows shot in at the near post (it wasn't that great a shot to be honest) turned the game. As was said, we didn't really dominate the middle of the match but when we got the third they lost it and wee were allowed to play again. And how they ended with 11 is beyond me, the abusing the ref, the late heavy tackles the general lack of control on the pitch was very poor.

We scored 5 and got 3 points, that is all that matters. Job well done, if we keep this up the title is ours, but as for Totton, does Windsor after beating Lewes ring any bells? 3 Points from a possible 18 is not exactly promotion material.

Most teams will have a sticky patch at some stage of the season and I hope I'm not tempting fate but I think we had ours back in Aug/Sep when we picked up 2 points from 12. The simple facts are that a good defence coupled with the ability to score goals from just about any position is a great advantage in the run-in - it's great to have a 30 goal man like Bennett, Yetton, Bubb, et al [no, he's not a new Arabian forward] but if they're off form those other teams are struggling a bit whereas our 30 goal man [Chennels] may have the odd blip but everyone else then weighs in with their fair share of goals.

My main concern this season has come from not killing games off when we've clearly been on top but we seem to have solved that problem now and it may count at the end with Truros' superior goal difference to consider.

Having said that I'm beginning to believe it won't be that close at the end as I can't honestly see where we will drop any number of points - I'm predicting we win the championship by 9 points!

According to a post on their forum today us cockneys dont know anything about football. Then again people from that part of the world are hardly known for their intelligence after all look at this idiot

Cinderford is summed up quite nicely by the idiot with the christmas lights up outside their house all year round. I'd almost prefer to be in the Ryman to get away from these country bumpkins but then again i guess that's half the fun of an away day!!!

I seem to recall this being very much the case when we played them at home earlier in the season and we had a [****!!****] ref that game which didn't help!

To be honest it doesn't matter what they think, we are top of the league and spanked them 5-1, where does it leave them if we know nothing about football? Oh, and constantly calling our keeper a bender and the referee a bender is homophobic and they should be careful they don't get some of their fans banned a la Tottenham and the Sol Campbell incident. There were also some other unsavoury comments but lovely place to visit, the rolling council estate houses, the friendly locals and the free three points with every visit LOL!!!!

My dad thought they would lose and thought we deserved to win. He did reckon that Coops constantly punched their centre forward in the back and should have been sent off and that the ref was very poor and it was not a penalty, and the journey back was a tad quiet. But we didn't play well in the middle of the game and still won 5-1. He wasn't that impressed with us and in places i agree with him, but you can't blame the ref when you lose 5-1. Their home record is appalling and I think their bitterness is borne out of frustration, the first half probably should have ended 1-1 and then for us to finish the game in the space of a few minutes really rained on their parade.
