Why dont you put it on the forum for all to see I,m sure itll make interesting reading or get together with one of the other helpful experts on this forum whose valued opinions, i,m sure can only enhance the team and apply to be joint managers. Some players are willing to commit themselves to a football club who like all the others out there find it hard to keep up with the weekly costs hence the reason some players unfortunately go. Im sure these the comments can only help lift the spirits of the players and the new signings

It seems strange that Billy was one of the best strikers and leading scorers in this league, but he hasn't been attacking as well as we have seen him lately.

And as our attack line becomes poor, and defending is becoming good. Ok we conceded 2 against Dartford, but kept a clean sheet again last night.

On a brighter note, Heybridge came from 2 goals down to beat Hornchurch 3-2. tongue

Norbert/Gazza the great thing about forums are that they are there for discussions amongst fans that support the team. You can moan that some of us are criticising the team but on a fourm that is what people can do just like they can on match day.

We don't support a team flying high in the league or playing good football thus people will criticise. Such criticism are observations and comments not offers of taking over team management. I like 99% of football fans don't wish to run my football team but I do wish for my team to play good football or at the very least be moving up the football pyramid and at the moment that is looking highly unlikely.

.

Agreed;

Patriot/Barry, did you go to dartford ?
Result aside, I don't know what you thought, but I thought we played some decent football in that game.

Which was just 3 days earlier and exactly the same starting 11.
We have lost one in the last 6 (an away fixture) and had three clean sheets in the last 4.

Is that kind of form worthy of criticism?

Glad we seem to agree what a forum is for and these are the sorts of debates people should be having on a forums. I would much rather we all get things off our chests on here rather than slag of the players and management from the first minute on match day.

I did attend both the Dartford and Tooting game and felt that at times we played some good football but they were individual spurts of skill from Bradley & Wareham (just two occasions that spring to mind, not the only highlights of the two games). I think we were massively unlucky at Dartford, cause they were not a great side with us having a lot of possession but like Tooting I didn't think the performance as a team was good enough. It still seems to me that we rely on individual fits of brilliance to get us our goals, as a team we just don't grind out many goal scoring chances. The relentless hoof up the field to our forwards leaves it to them to chase scraps and create individual goals.

Granted our form is not bad at all with our defence not an issue. Maybe I just have too lofty aspirations for our club but to watch this kind of low scoring aimless football just leaves me asking the question, "shouldn't we want more?"

Of course we should want more, there would be no point in going otherwise.

As you say, we had a lot of possession at Dartford, therefore we didn't punt it forward in the same way that we did at Tooting, particularly in the first half. Changes were made at half time to try and combat that and to a certain degree they did.

fits of brilliance: if they could do it for 75 min

I'm not sure. Whilst the forum is a great place to express views and opinions, some posts (IMO) can be very damaging to the confidence and morale of individuals, the team and the management at a time when they need all the help we can give them. I don't think you need a degree in psychology to understand that the public criticisism of individuals or the team may be a contributing factor to a dip in performance levels.

Question is, is it really helping the team if we get things off our chest in such a public way where it remains for ever for everyone (including the players, management and next opposition) to read it whilst they mentally prepare for the next game?

Agree that players who turn it on constantly wouldn't be here but that wasn't my point.

I don't expect 90 mins of individual brilliance cause that is unrealistic at any level, but as a team we just don't create chances and therefore it is left to individual fits of brilliance to get our goals.

We all go on this forum cause we love the club and want to share our views and expectations with fellow fans that also want to see the club succeed. Yes the game is frustrating at times but like most you don't want to miss a game just in case you miss a moment of brilliance or see your team rout your nearest and dearest neighbour!

As for your comment Pooch I understand where you are coming from but without opposing views and questioning of tactics and selections what would be the point of this forum other than just praising everything and everyone which means that nothing ever changes?

I'm not saying that the forum should become a 'praise only' forum as that would be unrealistic and boring and I guess no-one would read it. I just think there are better ways of getting certain views across.

I think we have a good mix of glass-half-full and glass-half-empty people on the forum to keep the debates lively and interesting. I just think that sometimes some posts over-step the mark and I'd hate for that to have a damaging effect on my team as none of us want to see that.

Pooch I do agree that no one on here wants to damage the club but I do think that if you feel strongly about something then it should be said. We do have a fair mix of half full and half empty posters on here which should lead to lively and creative debate. Of course criticism shouldn't be said about individuals etc without due proof but if there is proof there then why not e.g. Paul Shave?

The performance of the team of late opens upto rightful criticism from some quarters. The problem on this forum is that if you criticise the style of play e.g. hoof and hope or the management response to a face to face question you are told, "well if you can do a better job- put in your CV!". Such responses are made to just stifle debate and the it turns in to character assasination of initial poster and the initial discussion is forgotten. People like Town Crier at least questions peoples criticism and opens up good debate without a personal attack. Open debates about tactics/signings etc are what the forum should be used for.

No Patriot, it was a off the cuff question given a off the cuff answer and the "reported" on this forum as a "state of affairs", which as you well know it isn't. You wanted to dig, you didn't want to debate, hence my response.

And if you read my comments surrounding my response to you (which I dare say you have but have chosen to ignore), then you would understand.

Feel free to debate but don't go quoting people, over a question which was asked in frustration (as I'm sure it was) with a response that I know was made in frustration as evidence of what or where the management are at this club.

Gazza this is a debate forum and such a comment is surely going to cause debate as it did on the journey home. I don't care if the response was off the cuff it was made and is clearly a topic for discussion.

Yes the question was asked in frustration after another frustrating performance but the fact that the response was so blunt and so matter of fact is surely cause for fans to debate?

I have read all your comments and no point have I chose to ignore instead I chose to debate with you (as I continue to do) rather than just throw back one line digs at individual posters comments or criticisms.

Gazza I am not the management team and so I am sure that like with most comments fans make no one really cares less what the other says. If you wish to get so very personal as to post overheard comments feel free, but I am unsure of the value of such quotes.

You seem to forget that I have not thrown in a personal comment I have overheard with a glass to the managers door such as, "blah blah said that blah blah for billericay is a useless twat". I have posted a comment made by our management team about the TEAMS performance in response to a 'FACE TO FACE' question. I always thought that face to face was the way we were being told to make our comments to the management or have I got that wrong also?
