"Team: tucker semanshia dumas duncan cole© dormer ferguson hunter bricknell woods-garness wareham

Subs: flack heffer alaile marron fowler "

Is that correct? Cole captain?

I think I must have goofed when copying the team sheet. Dormer was captain.

Disappointing tonight. BWG cocked up a one on one with the keeper by hesitating, and Fergie put it over from 3 or 4 yards out.

Tucker had to make a few good stops too. TMUFC hit the post in the first half.

Subs: Heffer and Alaile replaced Cole and Semanshia at HT. Marron replaced Wareham on 79m.

Yes the ref was poor but we were poorer.

We lumped the ball forward time and time again, absolutely dreadful to watch for the majority of the game.

Even if we change our forward line we will continue to struggle as once again the strikers were left feeding off the scraps of long hopeless balls.

Credit to Wareham and Bradley for their running and commitment and to Dormer for his doggedness in midfield but I thought the game was terrible to watch.

Sums up our management at the end when my dad walked past the dug out and asked Broom, "Any chance of us keeping the ball on the ground?" The response from the management was, "This is non-league!". Sort of sums it up really.

A draw was probably fair. They hit the post and Tucker made some good stops whilst BWG and Fergie both missed excellent chances in the second half.

Our recent lack of League goals (just four I think in 09), particularly from the strikers is a worry imo and needs addressing urgently. Otherwise mid table mediocrity will be loudly calling.

That stat about our goal tally is an eye opener. Coupled with the fact that until recently Bricknell was one of the leagues top scorers. When he enters a lean patch it appears we struggle.

Gazza - A quality indepth comment.

Nowhere in my post did I refer to me doing a better job or to me not thinking the managers are up to it. I was merely pointing out to those that spend their time and money following the team (which many like me choose to do freely), and are disappointed with the long ball game and general performance, that this seems to be the tactics that the managers want and expect cause we are "non-league". People like myself that want to see and do expect better football now know what they can expect.

I for one wont stop following the team, as they are my team but at least I know that the players are doing as directed thus I wont criticise them for hoof and hope displays.

"hoof and hope" I'm sure i've been to this pub!

I did think that we played better with the ball on the ground, The passing was better and the pick up rate was good. But the hoof came back towards the end of the game and almost cost us it.

On a BRIGHTER note we did not loose the game and came away with a point, One more than we had going.

The lack of goal contributions from midfield is a very obvious factor. Meaning that if one or both of our strikers dry up (Billy hasn't scored in any game he's started this year), then there's hardly anywhere else for a goal to come from.

Don't ask me what to do about it though. It's just an observation.

The lack of goal contributions from anyone other than Billy is a factor in my opinion - in league games Joe has hit 3 (+2 pens) from 14(10) games, Bradley 2 from 12(5). Fergie has 2 from 24, the same as Shave.

I think we expected that scoring wouldn't be the area where we would struggle at the start of the season, but it is. I make it a combination of reasons - but it boils down to the fact that individually and collectively our attacking play has been poor on too many occasions (Billy excepted by and large) and that has left us with a complete lack of confidence.
