i would agree horsham we WERE a big non league club but we are no more than history will remember

survival is on the ajenda as a club and i believe we will survive but at what cost?

to me it is swings and roundabouts got no pennies cannot do alot ,people walk away in disbelief that you can do better and they will not come back untill the greatness of s.t.f.c returns to there winning ways

but as i say it is sods law cannot please the majority or moinority but i will might add that without slough's away support there might be a few clubs that were on the border line before now might now have harder times ahead

this is only my opinion

I don't understand it, Chris. Bubb is most definitely a winger and I'd be happy to try Attrell on the flank. Sonny is also prepared to take players on so why not him??!

It was very evident on Saturday that they caused us problems by running at our defence particularly in wide positions whereas we had nobody who would go past anyone. Result was we came up against a well organised midfield that we couldn't pass and resorted to hoofing it over the top of them. Bloody frustrating.

Don't get me wrong Ian, I agree I think we should at least give it a go and try with two wingers. Just think that Attrell would have played by now if Sweetman really rated him, and i'm not sure he trusts Byron's tracking back and ability to defend playing right-wing. Personally i'd play Sonny centre mid every time, although what harm is there trying him wide right.

Although I'm disappointed about Saturday's result I don't think it was as bad as some people are saying.

We were playing the divisions form team who have some very quick and skillful players that would walk into our team (now theres an idea).

We conceeded two soft goals, one debatable and one gifted, and mayby matched them for scoring chances over the 90 minutes.

Yes, overall, they were certainly better than us but I put that down to poor team selection (formation wise).

On the point of playing 4-4-2, didn't the players and management have a meeting earlier on in the season and decided to switch to 4-4-2 because 5-2-3 wasn't working?

I am quite certain that a guy called Roberts played for the first team during the mid 1970's from looking at old On This Day features in old matchday programmes, not sure if this is Steve Roberts?

I would also be interested in finding out the date, opposition and result of Sweetman's first and last appearances if indeed he ever played for the first team, because I haven't seen his name mentioned a single time.

Chalfont Wasps aren't so bad either , managed by an ex Rebel and an ex Rebel Asst Manager !

Slough need to build for next season , stay in the league and really go for it next season with players and staff who want success

Not necessarly. If the team could keep the ball better without such a massive gap in midfield then playing against a quick team doesn't pose as much of a threat.

I think Slough have got the players to compete in the upper half of this league. Danny Jordan should be played as an out and out striker (he wasn't the leading goalscorer last season for nothing). The support you have is second to none and we enjoyed welcoming you back to AFC Hayes this season. Hopefully look forward to welcoming you again next season. All the best for the rest of the season. p.s. AFC Hayes new website is anyone is interested.

I have to say , the slough supporters supporting Slough These days are under no illussions that we are not a big club anymore..this makes them more outstanding by sticking with there club..through out the last 10 years or so...

How many would do this for other clubs in a similar position...

we know we are not a big club anymore...so stop please reminding us...

Once a rebel always a rebel...

my point about the crowd at windsor was the fact that you are pushing for the championship, playing some great football and have a fairly decent set up. The pitch ( which we paid for!!) looked and played fantastic ( apart from the bit of mud up the middle, but terrific considering the weather we've had ) and still only a gate of 150. I don't know what valentines day has to do with anything, why not take the wife to the match first then out to dinner after!! At least that would swell the crowd. I'd would have hoped you would be getting crowds at least the same as us but regularly fall way short. Its a shame. I really like stag meadow and wish we still played there. No disrespect to sycob but i would prefer to still be at Windsor. I would be much happier back at wexham but you know what I mean.

Thank you very much Gary!

Do we have any other Sweetman information-like what position he played etc etc. Having hardly missed a match in those days, either my memory is going, or he was so insignificant no one noticed him.-Your wrong about Roberts-you must mean Dave Roberts the former Rainbows Youth Club player who was a very good player and local to boot!
