The item below from the new Ryman (un-official) w-site may explain the confusion

 

Hornchurch simply lack manners or the required style for "new money"

 

George Borg has struck a deal with the urchins as head coach. He leaves Boreham Wood FC as they have just been relegated from the Ryman premiership. Woods Chairman Danny Hunter does not seem to be happy with it all. He says he does not like the way that Hornchurch FC have delt with the matter. He knew that Hornchurch were intersted but he still expected a little courtesy call.

But the urchins have their man and they and Mr Borg seem to be Happy

oh...you're back are you.....obviously taken a few days to think that one up.....

 

now kettles and pots comes to mind here and I could make references to Canveys 'new money' style but I won't because I like the club and I have a lot of respect for Kingy for what he's done over there in the face of a lot worse critisism than we get.......

 

anyhow...back to our resident stalker and his latest attack on George Borg and our dear little 'essex pub team'......

 

what on earth has it got to do with HFC what the Chairman of BW does or doesn't want GB to do.......we have never had any dealings with BW at all so why should we ring them to tell them who our new coach was.....

 

might as well say we should ring Alex Ferguson and tell him....just to see if its alright...!!!!

 

get lost pabird and find something else to amuse yourself with...

Our Mr King is many things but not new money

Our Mr King nor his management/administartion or playing team have ever been accused of acting without integrety

I certainly was not making a Borge comment that as I said earlier is over and done with

It was a comment on a club, a comment not made by me but itemised as a statement worthy of consideration

unless you've got something positive to say pabird instead of all these half lies and slurs.....I suggest you go and liven up your own forum.....

 

HFC acted quite honourably in the appointment of Borg...you obviously don't know our Manager Mick Marsden......ask anyone in football about his integrity....second to none......yet you seek to undermine that integrity with your scurrilous accusations about his conduct.....

 

shame on you.....

 

I will pass no comment about Canvey or its money or business practises as it is not my place to do so........

 

you don't know anything about our club...its finances or indeed its commercial affairs...although you are obviously very intrigued

 

if you don't know pabird...try not to make it up please....just ask us and we'll tell you....

That is typical Mr Borg. He loves the sound of his own voice. Loves publicity (his own). Is not particularly good at what he does but can talk the talk... but walk the walk?

Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

You should listen to pabird some of what he says is realism.

A Barge Pole from what i have heard from the ladies it's no more than a sitick.

 

Realism ough yeah and the sky is green and the grass blue.

Urchino your alegiance to your team is commendable but there are people about on the forums who are far wiser and have been around Non League far longer than you. There are also people who are in 'The Know' when it comes to certain 'colourful characters' such as Mr Borg. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Urchino V2 I didn't mention older. You can be wise bcause you're in the know and from experience and there are people on the forum who have 'experience' of Mr Borg. I hope he does a good job for the Urchins but as I said Et Tu Brutus. By next March we will probably know who was right and who was wrong.......

Im not in the know will people stop presuming that <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> I am no more in the know than any other Hornchurch fan the only reason i know about this issue is because my dad spoke to George at the canvey v Yeading match.

'tis true the end of season brings great joy...and sometimes sadness......

 

a serious question......

 

why does everyone assume that there are experts abounding Non League Footie at all clubs...but non at HFC.....?

 

you see at the last count up we had during one of our splendid evenings of joviality...we worked out that between the 'gang'as it were.....

 

we'd played

 

35 Premiership/Old 1st Div Games

1540 Nationwide games/Old 2/3/4 Div

5000 odd Non leage Games (can't remember exactly...)

to many to count school boy games......and...

 

had earned 35 International caps....and....

 

played at Wembley 7 times.....and....

 

we'd managed

 

13 teams between us......and

 

held four Chairmanships......and...

 

won three promotions and 16 trophys...(not all HFC)

 

now I accept that this experience leaves us way behind pabirds superior understanding of these matters.....but....even so.......

I do agree we don't seem to have a stato??? MX i think is the closest to that. Maybe becuase you guys have experiance but actually have the integrity and reality to understand that no one can predict the futue and you are more intrested in that.

 

ok maybe not the answer to the question but the most serious and uncontroversial posting i have done in a while.
