TOOTING TACTICS!!

I have noticed very little mention of the disgraceful rough play by many Tooting players yesterday. They were at the ref from start to finish and the foul on Robinson was appalling near the end.

Also to stop the game and tell two of their players to stop bitching at each other is that not advice or meerely to stop them doing a Hales and Flannigan!

Not to mention the oscar awarded to the tooting player who having flattened anything that moved delivered the "pole axed" cameo when what goes around actually came around. We ought to sign him on.

Lots of off the ground lunges when they realised they could get away with 2 out of 3 such actions any time.

Ref's plan seemed to be to penalise every third bad tackle whoever it was.

Tooting, a team in turmoil, i feel, the basement of the Ryman beckons.

What really annoyed me with that bloke was the way he was grinning at our fans whilst supposedly being treated, knowing he had conned the ref into yellow carding Joe Healy. Mind you he got his come uppance a bit later when he petuantly threw the ball on the ground after giving away a free kick and rightly got booked for it.

Agree Dave, Tooting look destined to drop lower, amazing that they were second in the league not so long ago!

Wasn't that no.5? It wasn't noted in the programme, at least on the back team page, but judging by Andy's photos that was their captain. Also looked as if he was going to take a bow after the treatment. Did a strange ear wiggle at us as well!

Yes it was Joe Vines - their skipper. I remarked on his actions in the commentary. "Ill-judged" is what I tink I said as it simply winds up supporters more. Those situations can go one of two ways; the players uses it as motivation, or let's it get the better of him. In the end, I think it was the latter!

On the first half performnace point, yes Tooting had clearer chances than we did but I thoght our overall eprformance was a sgood as theirs. We were significantly better than them in the second half - and that was with a left footer on the right. (Wasn't our problem in the past the other way round?)

What I thought was remarkable about the con was the view the Lino had of it. I was standing in front of the burger van when it happened and viewed it over the Lino's shoulder. Joe had stretched out and connected with the ball when no 5 ran into his outstretched leg, the Lino had a better view than the Ref but failed to make this known.

Why are Lino's there if they're just going to go along with every decision the Ref makes? ... Remember when Liverpool beat Chelsea 2-0 a couple of weeks ago, the Chelsea player(Bosingwa) studded Liverpool player (Benayoun) in the back, in front of the Lino who flagged for the foul, but didn't draw the Ref's attention to the severity of the foul, he just went along with the decision not to punish the Chelsea man.

If they (Lino's) are not going to add their view of incidents, just because they differ from the Ref - let's do away with them.

This is obviously the way Tooting play, they kicked anything that moved when they played Dover and Joe Vines conned the ref into sending Dean Hill off. They would be better off trying to play the game properly as they do have some good players.Congratulations on the win, Top Team in Thanet ;-)

Maybe I'm just getting old or maybe football has been sanitised beyond belief but I didn't think Tooting were especially dirty.

As GP said they cut through us again and again first half, a combination of good keeping and some poor misses kept us in the game.

However, the key was the timing of the first goal. Just after half-time it rocked T&M back on their heels and they just didn't show the grit and determination needed to get back into the game. Second half we were comfortably the better team.

As for the No. 5 winding up the crowd - good! A football match needs a pantomime villain. It all adds to the entertainment.
