I doubt that many people knew Reg had an artificial left leg, whilst doing a parachute jump during World War II he landed on a mine and his leg was blown off:

Well not quite 24/7 but I do enjoy keeping up with the Jones's as it were. I do follow boxing but more the good old days such as Cooper v Clay, the thriller in Manilla and Rumble in the Jungle when the commentaries from the likes of Reg and Harry Carpenter made the fight similar to David Coleman in the 70's with football and his '1-0' catchphrase.

it wasn't while he was doing a parachute jump.I believe he was asked to clear something out of the way.An officer told him to get out of the vehicle and to move an obstruction and he walked on a mine.
