It's in Sweeden on its hols...No really!

 

"Tonight's GX Cup tie with Andover was postponed this afternoon due to a heavy covering of snow on the pitch and terraces. It has been provisionally rescheduled for Wednesday 18th February but as soon as Judi confirms this it will be updated on the website."

When I was young we used to play even when it was snowing, we just had the snow swept away from the lines + penalty area and got on with it.

 

To be fair I think the clubs would be up for getting on and playing the games. Unfortunately it's all about elf n safety init, if somebody slips over on the terraces for example, rather than dusting themselves down and cursing their luck like people used to do, they now get straight on the phone to claims direct and demand compensation.

 

Anyway see you boys down the Stag on Sat.

According to Ben he's spoken to someone at the club who's said they've had a ref down and it is off. I know the rule is it has to be called off on the day but they've used a tad of common sense!

No they haven't used common sense, the league has invoked the special circumstances rule and allowed clubs to make the decision after 4pm today so the game wasn't officially called off until 5 minutes ago!

 

We also have no midweek fixture next week as we still don't know who our opponents are in the league cup. Swindon/Andover is now scheduled for the 17th and we play the winners on the 24th, so at least we haven't got to cancel the Winchester game as well!

Well the league has used common sense then! At least someone has for a change!!!

 

Steve is it possible to attempt to get a local saturday game moved to a tuesday and a long distance away game moved to a saturday or is it against league rules?
