Southend Manor tailed off towards the end of the season - no doubt due to the absence of a certain well known poster on these forums from the team - and were overtaken by Concord. I'm not sure whether they've applied for the Ryman.

 

Ben Barnett appears to have left Southend Manor.

Poor old Southend Manor will never go up on their present ground unless the council stop thinking of rebuilding their rhodedendron bushes and help the No 2 Senior club in the Borough with some positive up-grading of their facility. Mark Jenkins has done a remarkable job over the years under the astute chairmanship of Mr Westley but THAT ground - even if its just the pitch at the moment, needs an overhaul ! In the meantime, the much missed Ben Barnett is still in the Southend area but suffered so badly from injury that he hasn't been in the Manor side for a while. If they retain their side they will still be a threat as the club still has a very vibrant youth side - I am not a fan but have picked all this up reading between the lines in the local Sarfend papers and take the dog for a walk to the rhodedendron bushes !

Yes the kursaal flyer is correct, manor will never go up due to the ground situation.

As for Ben Barnett he has not played due to a back problem plus the birth of his baby girl.

He could not afford to be injure his back more as he could not afford to be off work.

I am actually going round to visit him tonight and see how he is!

Thats a shame to hear as i watched a few games a couple of years ago and you were definitely a good side is there any plans for redevelopment in the next couple of years

Southend Manor unfiortunately fella will go downhill due to the resignation of Mark Jenkins who is now in charge of Basildon.

 

He will take his squad with him there with high expectations and expect to now be able to get promoted!

Thats such a shame when it happens at this level but i guess it does happen thats a shame cos manor could have been a good side bu now they will just drift into olivion.

Exactly 5 years ago manor we're on par with Wakering but now look at them, nice ground and nice set up.

If Manor had their own ground who knows...

I have no idea boroman.

 

I know at some point manor was looking for there own ground but as always it came down to money.

 

Everyone there involved works hard and they do well for the facilities they have!
